This could be a partially or completely seized/failed pump.
Before a machine goes in to a spin cycle, it runs the pump to empty all the water out. It used to be quite common that the machine does not check all the water has gone before spinning, it just runs the pump for a set time which if the pump is okay, is long enough to empty it.
If a spin is then started with quite a lot of water left in the drum, it gets thrown everywhere including back out of the powder/conditioner draw. Also the sheer strain of spinning a large amount of water can force water through an otherwise okay door seal.
Unless you are comfortable working on the machine yourself, call an engineer.

Bosch dishwasher shows an error message E15. Any suggestions on how to resolve the issue. We've cleared the E15 several times by tilting unit and removing water, but seems to reappear

E15 is a leak into dishwasher base. Leak can be as simple as using to much soap powder or a split lower spray arm to more expensive fix of a leaking sump base or wash pump. Need to pull dishwasher out of cavity, remove side panels and front kick panel and run machine and watch base to see where leak is coming from. Have had them leak from 4 main places. Heat exchanger where large plastic nut screws from inside. Bottom of wash pump. Plastic sump base (mainly towards front of machine. And last place is a small pin hole can develop in stainless base of machine towards front of dishwasher. Check soap usage and lower spray arm for splits first.

Washer leaks

There is also a discharge lint filter on the front lower left that has to seal properly. If the water appears only when washing, you can probably eliminate leaking from the water supply side up to the solenoids controlling the water. The most likely source is a leak in the rubber section between the tub and the front door, a leak in the seal between the door and the washer, a leak or overflow in the soap dispenser, or a leak in the discharge side components. You could probably figure out the source if you could view these areas during a cycle, but that would require some disassembly of the cabinet so that you would need to know what you were doing.

Water coming out of the bottom of the machine

Sometimes, what may seem like a washing machine leaking from bottom locations is actually one that leaks slowly from other spots. Slow leaks can accumulate beneath your washing machine making it seem like you have a bottom leak. For more help identifying the exact point of the leak, see Washing machine leaking.

Bottom leaks may be better identified using a newspaper. Just dry the floor and lay the newspaper beneath the washing machine before you test for leaks. Darkened sections map out your water leak. This method is not always foolproof, however. The best diagnosis will come from a qualified service professional inspecting your machine.

If your washing machine is leaking from bottom in the rear, you may need a replacement pump and professional installation. The leak could also be caused by a faulty air dome seal or a hole in the tub. For more troubleshooting steps to tackle that leak, see Washing machine leaking from bottom. I hope that helps!

The rubber section of my Hotpoint WF640P has gone mouldy

The problem is basically caused by doing too many low temp washes.

The scum you refer to is actually bacteria that is bulding up on the door seal.

To avoid this problem reoccuring, the best thing to do is to have the door seal replaced, and periodically do a high temp wash with powder in, but without clothes..
This is called a maintenance wash, and is recommended by most manufactures
Also, after each wash, clean and dry the door seal, this will help prolong it's life.
Hope this helps answer your question.
Please rate my solution.
thanks.

GE whre5260e1ww zh133346g top load washer is leaking small amount from the bottom of the machine during wash cycle? I took the back of the machine off and the pump and motor assembly had broken off from...

Hello there:
Here is a few tips that might help you out
Hope that they are very helpful for you
Best regards Mike
Washing machine is leaking Washing machine leaks are very common. There are many places a washing machine can leak from although most leaks come from the same few places. The most common cause for a leaking washing machine is the door seal. Door seals often get holes in them and water leaks down the inside of the washing machine which then runs out under the front. Water leaking down the front of the washing machine from the door can be caused by a worn door seal (the flange part that the door glass presses against when closed) or something trapped between the door seal and the door glass which breaks the seal. If the door seal doesn't look worn, or it's too young to be worn, then try cleaning the door seal's flange and the door glass on the inside of the door. Bits of cotton, un dissolved washing machine detergent etc can cause a leak.
Soap dispenser leaks
The next most common cause of a leaking washing machine is the soap dispenser. Leaking water from a soap dispenser is often caused by a blockage, or water pressure that is simply too high. Despite seeing many leaking soap dispensers, I've never seen a soap drawer with a seal, they just rely on water not getting to the front which is not really good enough. Some Hoover soap dispensers in particular, are renowned for leaking, and over the years Hoover have had to introduce modified soap dispensers twice.
Some washing machines, can flood water out of the soap dispenser when a hose gets blocked (usually with un dissolved soap powder) Indesit, and Candy, as well as some of the later Hoover washing machines suffered from this design flaw. The hose where the water is flushed down, was right at the front of the soap dispenser on these washing machines and the hose wasn't wide enough. Un dissolved powder from a tablet or lumps of detergent through poor hot water pressure can block this hose solid. (Note: water flooding out of the front of a washing machine's soap dispenser can also be an indication of overfilling or a partial pump blockage if it does it when spinning)
Finally, black gunge in the top of the soap dispenser can cause water to spray towards the front and leak. Take out the soap dispenser drawer and look at the roof of the soap dispenser. If it's covered in black gunge, blocking some of the water holes, it could be causing problems. In extreme cases I've had to replace the dispenser.
Tips for finding a leak on a washing machine
  • If you have a leaking washing machine, and you can't see where it's coming from, shove some newspaper underneath the washing machine. The slightest drop will give a clue where the water is leaking from. Pull the sheet out regularly to check for water leaks.
  • Water can run round things and drip onto other parts. Be careful with your diagnosis, as water dripping from a hose at the bottom could actually be leaking from somewhere else higher up.
  • Leaks usually leave marks, so it's possible to see something is leaking even without witnessing it. The soap suds that come out with the leaking water leave white trails. Rust is a good indicator of a water leak too. However, if you have had a previous leak cured, the "evidence" of a leak may still be present so be sure you don't blame a part that was repaired in the past.
  • If the washing machine leaks only at the end of the wash, when water is being pumped out. Make sure water isn't backing up and cascading over the top of a blocked drain pipe in the plumbing.
  • WARNING: Don't get electrocuted trying to witness a leak. It's dangerous running the washing machine with the top or back off.

Leaking water from the front of machine,

Hi

The water level in a front loader should always be below the door line so consequently it should not be possible for water to leak out the door unless there is a problem with the actual door seal itself.

However if you are using too much, or incorrect type of detergent, the washer may be producing too much suds. Too much suds can cause door to leak.
Other causes of a leak which appears to be coming from the front but is on fact coming from elsewhere: Check the water inlet hoses. Check the drain hose. Check the standpipe (upright drain pipe used instead of a sink), or the wash sink connections. These will often be the actual source of a leak. When they leak the water can roll under the washing machine and appear at the front.

Also check this link for a good description of how to troubleshoot leaks happening at various stages during the cycle.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

Water level too high in tub causing water to leak out front

Sounds like the drain hose is disconnected. Check to make sure that the tube is not blocked and is connected properly. If the checks out then you should check your water sensor meter and make sure tht it is stoppingthe system at the correct points.

Miele 829 Leaking

You will need to remove the top of your machine.
Screws are at the top on the back of machine.
You will then see where the leak is.
Shouldn`t be expensive and is quite easy to repair
