I get no sound from the tv when cable is connect. How do I get sound

ensure your tv is not in Mute mode. ensure your tv does not have Headphones or cable in headphone socket, this will mute the speakers.
ensure the volume is turned up. test your cable on alternate tv if posible to test cable is correct. if still not working, contact Sony customer support.

I hope this was useful

My Sony STR-DG500 wont turn on just clicks once and nothing.

Sounds like faulty psu (pwer suply unit) Amp is going into protection mode. Disconnected all speaker and av wires (only power) turn up volume and see if it stays on. If not psu, sounboard or volume function faulty. If on, connect one speaker L or R. Go to tuner mode to tuned radio station an listen for sounds. If on, connect speakers and av cables one by one and test each one on its own until amp switches off, Investigate from there were problem is. Make sure speakerwires is not shorting out.

I need to know how to hook up DVD player with Cable TV I have the cable with the white yellow and red. I hook one end into the TV and one into the DVD player. I don't get a pic or sound. I do not havethe...

The key is having at least a Universal Remote ($10.00 or less) that will operate your brand of TV. Your TV is only looking at "stations". You need to make it see Aux-1, Aux-2, or Line In mode. BUT, another trick is to run the DVD into your VCR (if capable). Select the VCR proper "input mode" (Aux-1, Aux-2, or Line In mode) then the DVD will play through the VCR and it will play through the TV on either channel 3 or 4. Problem solved!

No sound on my Sony Triniton - video has SAP on it

YOU ARE IN SAP MODE. IF THERE IS NO SECOND AUDIO PROGRAM ON THE STATION YOU ARE WATCHING YOU WILL GET NO AUDIO. SWITCH SAP TO STEREO OR MONO. SOME REMOTES HAVE A MTS BUTTON ON THEM.

TV won't "talk" with satellite cable

Try to see if you have 5volts for your EEPROM. If the voltage is normal try to replace your EEPROM or try to reprogram it. Your EEPROM is corrupted so that's why it will not store data.

Video/dvd/cd play but no sound from speakers

Try changing "audio" setup in your TV to "variable" instead of "fixed", if you have that option on your TV set up... I have a Sony HD widescreen, and that worked for me...

Channel Reception

It sounds like a defective tuner or a IF module as well. It may also be a defective capacitor(s) or cold solder joints inside the tuner circuitry. I woud suggest to use a VCR or a TV convertor connected to an Audio/video input to change channels instead of fixing it.
Good Luck.
