Why does the hot water continue to run when washer is off? New washer, ran once just fine. loaded a full load and hot water did not stop running causing it to spill out the fill dispenser department. Have unplugged, restarted, etc. Soon as hot water is turned back on, water fills the washer and does not stop.

check would be your water inlet valve. Check it for continuity with a multi meter it should show Ohms or a closed circuit. To test it when water is overflowing unplug the unit and see if it still overflows or continues to fill. If it stops when unplugged. Then it is not a water inlet problem but an electrical signal problem going to ur water inlet valve. Possibly from the panel or board. You can also do a live volt test to see if it is getting the full 120 current, but be sure to unplug unit before testing as this is a live test.
Also another trick to check the water valve, is to first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed
remove the frame, pop off the two clips that hold the pump on and pull the pump off of the motor shaft, start the machine,if it runs you have something stuck in the pump.if it does run get a shop vac and remove the water from the tub, then remove the clamps on the hoses just push them down the hose with a pair of plyers then loosen one hose at a time so you can vac out the water, once you have all the water out you can remove the pump and see what's stuck in it,usually,a sock, womens underwear or a metal from a bra.if it's not the pump move the shaft on the motor with the plyers were the pump slides onto, you could have a flat spot on the motor and by moving the motor at the shaft might free it up,i've done this, some motors will run all the time after this or it could stop again on the next load, watch it and see what happens.http://www.youtube.com/user/RepairClinic?v=DwV71h86Gxw&feature=pyv&ad=5457341861&kw=washer%20pump watch video and it will show you how to get at the pump and motor.good luck with your washer
If you disconnected power and water still flowed, replace the water valve. If water stopped flowing when power was disconnected, clean out tube from tub to water level switch.
sounds like the belt from the ele. motor to the wash drum broke. This can happen from over loading the washer or just wear and tear (lots of loads). Did you save the owners manual? It will give you a break down of the machine and contacts to get parts.
fill valve bad foreign matter (sand ,rust )has gotten through filter screen and settled in fill valve not allowing it to shut off completely..(hope i get this right) to acess remove screws on rear of console and lift console forward and up valve mounts underneath console may need to lift top up to acess lower fill hose connection ..remove plug on front corners of top remove phillips screw underneath top lifts up and tilts back
sounds like you are right the water inlet solenoid on the hot side is sticking remove the hoses and clean th escreen out and the valve try agin with a fill on hot to see if it stops on a small load if not replace the water inlet valve
There is a door on the bottom og this machine, I opened the door to find a little spot, I placed a bowel under the spout and opened it, drained all of the liquid out and this problem stopped! I also ran the machine on hot water with bleach after I emptied this resevoir. How often you do laundry will determine how often you must empty it. For me, once every 6-8 months does the trick!
