Xerox 7400 color printer keeps jamming at the entry to the transfer roller, sometimes at the manual feed tray (Tray 1).

It happens about 50% when the printer is first turned on, but once warm, pretty much 100%. I don't see any obvious issues with the rollers, removed all the paper bits that were left over from previous jams, but still continues to happen.

SOURCE: Manual Feed Gets Jammed

There could be an obstruction in the paper path or the roller might need to be clean or replaced.

hp printers typically do not have an error message to cover every known condition, thus if the printer needs maintenance in an undefined area, it will invariably indicate a paper jam. The printer usually responds to the installation of a maintenance kit which will include transfer roller, pickup rollers, and fuser.

SOURCE: paper jam ,no paper jam found Dell 1815dn

give this a try

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

My HP 2430 continues to jam on Tray 2 only. Tray 3 and Tray 1 (manual feed) are fine. I have replaced rollers and it continues to jam paper.

Common problem on this printer is for either the drive shaft for tray 2 to come lose or to break. Pull out the tray and try to rotate the roller. If it turns freely then the shaft is broken. The replacement procedure is too complex to describe here. If the roller does not turn freely then likely the pick solenoid has failed.

What does fault 072-210 mean? how to fix it?

An error occurred when using Tray 2. Turn the machine off and on. Most likely worn feed rollers, causing a "Ghost Jam" try replacing the feed rollers in the tray, and try again.

The printer keeps saying there is a paper jam at tray 1 but there is no jam

It is not picking up the paper. You need to either clean or replace the feed roller on tray 1

Kyocera FS 4000 DN printer stops printing for no reason.

Try the feed tires in the tray first. More than likely the paper is not being picked up and causing jam message. The separation roller also has a hub on it to prevent a second sheet from feeding. Sometimes these start to lock up ,a little oil on the hub sometimes relieves some of the tension.

I have a xerox 8400 and it just keeps jamming. actually i noticed the blue was not prinitng..and was actually pinkish...i thought a ink block was put in wrong so i was making a lot of solid blue copies to...

Where does it jam? Is it making an "accordion fold"just before it enters the front rollers? Does it pick up a second sheet from the tray in the process?
Does it print OK from the manual feed tray?
If so, there might be a sensor worn out at paper entry, near the entry rollers and the plastic curved flap in the front. Once had this problem, the sensor's plastic "tongue" was half it's usual size, worn out by the paper abrasion alone.

13.01.00 paper jam tray 2

The pickup rollers are worn out. Replace them and your problem will be gone. While you are sourcing them, use some alcohol. This may give them a little more life.

Hi wogan2:
Normaly when you get this problem it means that you need to replace the feed rollers in that tray.

Xerox phaser 7400

Remove the tray, first look for a piece of paper that has come out of the tray inside the tray area.
Make sure the rolllers are snapped into place. The easiest way to verify that is to remove another tray and compare them.
Look to see if all the switches and actuators are in place.
Make sure you hear the tray up motor running when you close the tray.
Also inspect the paper tray itself for broken items. Compare it to another tray.
