SOURCE: Problem 2Wire Router internet connection

HI! I bliv u are having some issue setting up ur router.. I will be more than glad to assist u. . here are the steps u need to do:
1. press the reset button on the back of the router for 20sec..while pressing the reset button, unplug the power plug and after 2secs while pressing the reset button plug it back in and press for 30secs after that unplug the router for 15secs then plug it back in..once all the lights are solid and ok
2. connect the ethernet cable to port1 of the router and the other end to the lan port of your computer..
3. pull up ur browser then type at the url:192.168.1.1.or 192.168.0.1 or u can check the routers default gateway by right clicking the network icon on the lower right of your task bar and click on status and it will show the ip address of the computer, subnetmask and default gateway, the default gateway is the routers ip address, once u type in to the url, it will ask u the username and password, by default the username is admin and the password is 1234 or just leave it blank
4. it will show the setup page of the router. u can set the router on the specific internet setup that u have.
a. if ur isp is a cable company, normaly u need to do a mac clone on the router setup page by cloning the computer that is reg to the cable company, how to determine it. ex. the computer that is reg to the cable company is a desktop or laptop, if this computer is connected to the modem directly and u can access internet.
b. once u determined it u need to connect this computer directly to the router and do a mac clone and set ur internet settings to auto-dhcp..then save the settings and after that, unplug to the power of the modem and router, plug in 1st the power of the modem then once all lights lit, plug in the router, then once all lights lit, try to pull up a browser that ur computer is connected directly to the router.. ur cable connection shud be, cable from the modem will go to the WAN port of the router and connect ethernet cable on port1 going to the lan port of the computer..once u can access the internet, u can now access again the setup page of the router by typing at the url:192.168.1.1 and u can setup the wireless settings, u need to create a ssid or wireless name and a security..
5. If ur isp is a dsl normaly they give u a username and password to connect to the internet, ur settings on the router should be PPPoe
6. If ur isp gives u a static ip address settings, u need to set the router to isp setup.
a. how to check the isp of the isp given to u..
1. click on start
2. run
3. type cmd
4. it will show a dos prompt
5. from the dos prompt type ipconfig/all
6. it will list the ip address, subnet, default gateway, dns server
this settings should be type in to the settings on the router for static ip addressing..
7. Once your done on the internet setting, go to your wireless connection settings and you can create a wireless network name or ssid, set a security by selecting wep, wpa, wpa2.
8. once all is set. save the settings and to check if your laptop can access the wireless network that you did, turn on the wireless switch of your laptop, once its on, it will show the wireless network icon on the lower right of the taskbar, right click it and select on view available network, the network name that u did should list, just select it and connect and it will ask for the password, just type the password and connect, you should be connected to the wireless network and have internet access..
9. If you are going to hook up your desktop to the wireless connection, you need to install a wireless network adapter, install the driver and do the same thing as u did to the laptop, for the desktop no need of turning on the wireless switch, once you install the driver correctly, it will show a network icon..
if you have any query pls feel free to get in touch.. good luck

LG smart TV already WiFi. Can ethernet connect to another device as a router

It is not going to work. Both wifi and ethernet are for internet connection only. Ethernet is much faster than wifi. Also there is possibility to damage tv by plugging ethernet cable which is connected device using POE (power over ethernet). You need to connect your dvr via hdmi, component or composite cable

Hi im able to connect to my dvr via my iphone on the Hik connect software, but as soon as i disconnect from LAN it does not give live feed

If it's a network connected DVR they require an input signal to give you a live feed and to remain connected to your router. You may also want to look into your router settings and into your connected devices. There you would look up that DVR either by its name or the mac address. I strongly suggest you give it a static IP address.

once you press RESET you will not be able to connect wirelessly, you have to configure the router. you can only do that via a LAN cable connected PC. switch router off for at least 10 seconds. attach a pc using a lan cable to ports 1/2/3/4 NOT to the WAN port(5). switch on the router and start your browser. type in either http://router or 192.168.2.1 to get router menu up. configure the router because you have RESET it. http://www.belkin.com/uk/support-article?articleNum=8181

Must be reset router tl-mr3420 tplink time to time after connecting DVR Hikvision externally via NO_IP. the router has DDNS enabled and open port-forwaring

1.You will possibly need to configure the router for what is called "port Triggering"
2. from what I read is that there is no IP via the Hikvision external there fore requiring a new IP each time for connectivity.
Instruction set from the manual states:
To add a new rule, follow the steps below.
1. Click the Add New... button, the next screen will pop-up as shown in Figure 4-40.
2. Select a common application from the Common Applications drop-down list, then the
Trigger Port field and the Incoming Ports field will be automatically filled. If the Common
Applications do not have the application you need, enter the Trigger Port and the
Incoming Ports manually.
3. Select the protocol used for Trigger Port from the Trigger Protocol drop-down list, either
TCP, UDP, or All.
4. Select the protocol used for Incoming Ports from the Incoming Protocol drop-down list,
either TCP or UDP, or All.
5. Select Enable in Status field.
6. Click the Save button to save the new rule.
**************************************************************************
check the "Local management" in the router
you must allow certain devices to obtain an IP via either MAC address or IP address.

I have a WRT54G-TM with a flashing green power light

factory reset the router and update the firmware on the device prior to configuring it for anything else. Once updated and able to login consistantly, you should be ok.

Latest fw code is:

Ver.5.00.38

Cable connectivity

hi pat seems your router is not configure yet for internet connection, for cable connection you must log into the setup page of the router and clone the mac address of your computer.

to do that you can call 1-877-453-5465
to have someone walk you trough the steps.

flashing lights simply means activity on your network, and you get activity when you have internet connection.

hope that helps pat.

Buffalo router

Let me verify your network configuration with you. You have your modem connected to the WAN/Internet port of your router via an ethernet cable and then your PC connected to your router via another ethernet cable, correct?

If this is your setup, then try this:
  1. Unplug the power cord from the modem & router
  2. Plug the power cord into the modem and wait for it to boot up (most modems have an "Internet/Connection" light to indicate they are connected to the ISP)
  3. Plug in the power to the router, wait for it to complete the bootup process (usually when the lights stop flashing it's done), and see what happens.

Linksys Wireless WRT54G vs. WET54G

For what it is worth, I fhave found streaming video does not function well using a wireless connection. The options of multipale routers will work as long as you configure them as to not have conflicting IP address assignment's via DHCP, and the routers do not have matching IP address's. Never fear all is possible with paticence. BPCS
