No power to freezer fan on hotpoint ffa91

On some of theses units the fans are connected through the defrost bi metal. When the bi metal gets cold the fan comes on. Check and replace bi metal. Should solve your issue.

We are unable to keep the freezer degree at 0. It goes up to 38 degrees and my food is ruined. It has occured 2x this week. What do I do? Does the computer need to be replaced?

Hi,
Is the fan running in the freezer? I have seen and heard of this happening, I have change the control board and did not fix the problem, I found the problem in the harness connection behind the evaporator fan motor, its a 9 to 12 pin connection. One of the pins have slide out of the molex and causes the fan not to run when needed. This will also causes the refrigerator section to rise in temperature and can cause food spoiling. When you fan is effected in the freezer, the top section of the freezer will be warmer than the bottom section because of the cool air drops, heat rises. Without the fan running, both sections will be effected. Check the harness connection I noted above, push every wire inward toward the connections itself, if the fan comes on, you found the problem.
Good Luck, if this fails to work for you, you will need to call your servicer to check over the electrical system for you.

Cooling fan cannot get started by itself once it starts....if you give it a little touch it will start. Could it be the fan motor?

Hello,
Yes that sound exacly like a bad motor,by giving it a little help and it starts and runs that means power is at fan motor to let it run,it would not run if power wasnt there so since power is there everything else is fine and sending power to fanmotor and it just wont start. By replacing that fan it will run byself without and help. Reply back with EXACT model number and i'll give you the part number so you can get replacement motor. and while i think its the freezer fan motor your talking about?is it the freezer fan or the one by the compressor?

I need to install condenser fan motor on my newly bought freezer to protect it from our upcoming very hot summer. As I've heard that installing such a fan will prolong the life of the compressor. So, I...

One wire must go to Neutral or the black wire where it comes off the main power lead and connects to the unit wiring, The Live wire should be picked up from the thermostat terminal that powers the freezer compressor. In this way the fan will only run when the compressor is operating. If the fan motor is a large one , more than 200 watts, you will need to run it through a relay to prevent overloading the thermostat contacts.

Trouble with model LFC25760ST inside display refrig registering Err and freezer FF and things are not cold

That is a freezer fan motor error, the freezer fan is no longer running. Check the freezer fan for a loose connection, if everything checks out ok there you probably need to replace freezer fan.

Freezer is cold, refrigerator is warm. sounds

check the fan from the freezer side if its not running /possible frozen or jammed will cause the refridge side to be warm the fan blows the freezer air into the fridge side to cool their is also a damper or duct control which can build up if no blockage or debris test fan for power if power than test fan it self if not running than repair or replace as necessary

My evaporator fan is not working even though I have power to the fan from the harness. The fan works when tested running power straight to it on the bench, and the leads have continuity to the fan motor,...

Good day,
One possibility is the door has a fan switch on it, and would not run if the door was open, or the switch was bad. Some models had a switch in the freezer on the top or side of the housing where the door mates to it.
As well some had 2 fan switches. The one described as well as an other one in the food compartment as well.
In either door, the switch may be a combination switch with 4 wires connected to it. 2 for the light, 2 for the fan.

In addition, many Amana's had the power to the fan routed thru the defrost thermostat. It's a round disk clipped to the top of the coil with 2 wires coming out of it. It's about 1" in diameter.
The purpose of wiring it that way, was so the fan wouldn't start running after a defrost cycle until the coil reached 20 degrees or colder.

My Kenmore refrigerator model # 253.7419240p the freezer works perfect but the fridge part is very warm i had milk in it over night and it spoiled... what can i do to fix this i can not go without a fridge...

the fact that the freezer is still cold is a good thing as that means the compressor is still running, and probably at least the condensor fan also that is beneath the frig/freezer near the compressor.
check that the fan in the rear of the freezer is running when the compressor is on, if so then your issue may be a pluged or blocked air passageway that interconnects the freezer compartment with the frig to cool it. this will need to be chased down and located to remedy
if the fan is not running you will need to find out if there is power to the fan, if so the fan is shot and can be replaced, if not then we need to find out why. broken wire between the defrost timer is a possibility, even a bad connection through a moly plug could cause it.
hope this helps,
best of luck,
