Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out thelast two tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...
Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...
ck the back of freezer for ice build up there should be no ice . if so the defrost heater has failed or the drain is pluged . . thes units often need drain heater's to prevent the problem .. mm
the fact that the freezer is still cold is a good thing as that means the compressor is still running, and probably at least the condensor fan also that is beneath the frig/freezer near the compressor. check that the fan in the rear of the freezer is running when the compressor is on, if so then your issue may be a pluged or blocked air passageway that interconnects the freezer compartment with the frig to cool it. this will need to be chased down and located to remedy if the fan is not running you will need to find out if there is power to the fan, if so the fan is shot and can be replaced, if not then we need to find out why. broken wire between the defrost timer is a possibility, even a bad connection through a moly plug could cause it. hope this helps, best of luck, ttfn
Was the refrig on its side at any time during movement and if so , was it left standing for 24 hrs before turning on ?
Check the fans to see if frozen (rust ) from the humidity when unplugged . 1 in the freezer and 1 in the rear , cooling the compressor .
Try tapping on the thermostat , and see if refrig starts . Not a slight tap (except at first) but not a heavy tap either .
Excellent organization of your question , with the complete model number . Most do not give the first 3 numbers , therfore , unable to help them .
Assuming this was originally a frost-free model, either the defrost cycle timer died or the defrost heating element died. If it's the timer, you might be able to manually start and end a defrost cycle every few days. If it's the heating element, you may be stuck with what you're doing or an expensive repair or buying a new refridgerator.
Hi there. This should be a self defrosting unit. Check the defrost clock. It's usually behind the grill at bottom front of frig. or near the compressor. There is probably a little window on the clock motor where you can see it turn. You can manually advance the clock to put the unit into defrost mode. Check the defrost heating element. This is the usual problem. It is under shrouds where all the frost builds up. If element good, check defrost thermostat connected to element mechanically and in series electrically. Thanks Paul
Hi, Check in the freezer section and see if there is frost building up on the rear panel. Notice if the evaporator fan motor is running. If there is frost, you need to repair the defrost cycle. Please let me know if this what you find so I can assist you further.
Hi, You can check and see if there is frost built up on the rear wall inside the freezer. If there is frost, you have a defrost problem. Check and see if the evaporator fan motor is running in the freezer. Check these out first and let me know so I can assist you further Thanks Vic
possible that condensation drain line is clogged. This line drains the water from the freezer when it goes into defrost to a small pan loscated above the compressor where when it gets to the pan the heat from the compressor running evaporates the mosture.
fan motor from freezer to fridge out. What this motor does is allow freezer temp to be used to cool fridge. Motor is located between the bottom panel of the freezer and the top panel of the fridge.
hi! you mean there is ice on the part of evaporator or some in other part? its normally cool your refrigerator inside part.If ice is present your fan have insufficient air neede to frost free your evaporator its not the same with the origina you replace, beside your thermostat is not working have check this one.
hi! that symptom correspond hizzing sound on evaporator.factors are to be check before you can diagnose insusfficent cooling effect check your actual opearating current using clamp ammeter, set to amperes rating, clamp to one line source take thereading, compare reading on the tag locate at the backside of freezer there is rated ampers indicated.if you got low amper rating your system is under charge, thats the time you recharge your system by qualified ref/ac technician.but if you got high amper rating your filter need to replace as well as your refrigerant.check also the high side pressure by service pressure gauge manifold or the compressor discharge pressure if can compress to 300 to 500 psig.if not your compressor has loose compression.compressor is worn out.
Coldspot 106. Model
This model refrigerator is a relatively small refrigerator. It is a Freezer on top model, and Sears documents lists this unit at 18.1 cu ft. I hope that answers your question about capacity.
I'm glad I could help. If you need anything else, just let me know.
In reality, when you buy a replacement, you buy by dimensions to fit the space not cubic feet of the old one. Go to Home Depot armed with a tape measure.
