SOURCE: Miele G661 Dishwasher heating element

Loosen element-retaining bolt plus clips in dishwash chamber. Upend machine and take base off (held by four crosshead screws). Disconnect spade connectors from end of element and gently tap/push old rubber block through. Element will drop out with retaining rubber.

SOURCE: Miele dishwasher not heating

hi,

you would have to turn the unit on it's side and remove the bottom plate and check with a multi meter the resistance of the heating element to see if the heating element is defective. i doubt the dishwashing liquid caused a fault other than causing the unit to over sud and spill water into the base. You could remove the panel under the door and have a look and see if you have flooded the base. if you have a float switch in the base (white polystyrene disc and switch) this will stop the unit from working as well. dry up any water and try it again. hope this helps and don't use the dishwashing liquid in the unit.

same boards .
rip out the the main mother board with all the black boxes ,and the transformer on it,,there is 1 black box its the biggest of them all ,next to the fuse with the blue cover on it ,with care take the black cover off with a screw driver carefully, not to damage the lower half of the internals, the lower section must not be damaged all ,once the cover is off you will see a copper coil on one side and on the other a set of breaker points ,at the end of the points ,get a screw driver and push in the outter point inward just a fraction, and bingo it will work again,of coarse its a temp solution, you will need to get a new breaker box from tandy or dick smith or simlar place to keep it going long term ..
hope this helps guys and gals ,please take extream caution when working on such dangerous power sourses ,and always make sure the power cord is removed before and repairs or tweeks..

On model du81qdwgq1 is hot or cold connection

You are supposed to connect the dishwasher to the HOT water side. Although most dishwashers have a heating element to heat the water, they are normally installed this way to reduce the amount of time the heating element is on. This not only extends the life of the heating element, but also reduces the amount of electricity required to heat the water.

Another helpful hint: Before you run the dishwasher, run the hot water tap until the water runs hot. This will fill the dishwasher with water that is already hot instead of the cold water that normally sits in the line after the hot water has been shut off for a while. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Water not hot nor warm

When you run the hot water at the kitchen sink until it is hot and start a cycle on your dishwasher, is water hot when you open the door after it stops filling?
If no, the diswasher is connected to the cold water line, not the hot water line. The water temerature entering should be a minimum of 120 degrees but no hotter than 140 degrees.
If the water going in is hot, but it cools down after each filling then the heating element has failed and needs to be replaced. When the heating element fails, the dishes, especially the glassware will be foggy and still dirty.
Please reply with what you find. Good Luck!
