The manual has a step by step procedure for adjusting the cables for the auger, speed selector and drivewheels. One socket wrench and about 10 min should do it.
My Yardworks is an MTD product and it's manual should be similar to yours. If you lost it, you can download it from MTD's site.

on some blowers you have to remove the front auger sya in order to change the belt. it a pain. look down from the top to see if you have room to slid the belts throw, if not remove the front auger

I can't give you an absolute answer without checking it out in person, but I'll do what I can to help. What you are describing sounds like the bearings on the auger are going bad. Either they are making the noise. or they have play in them and the auger is then scraping on the body of the snowblower. As to locating parts, Toro maintains a pretty good website that allows you to look up your own parts and/or find a local parts distributor. I hope this helps.
