SOURCE: flame too high on gallery gas stove

Hello Carlos - Does you range have an LP conversion kit installed? If so, I would recommend verifying that unit is set to appropriate fuel and fuel conversion kit is finished. Also trying adjusting the pressure regulator and/or air shutter.

Flames are mostly yellow, vent black soot

There is a flame adjust ring on each burner where the gas exits the inlet nozzle. Before adjusting these, be sure all other gas appliances are working ok (water heater, etc.) . If they are then focus on the pressure regulator on the stove itself. That is the part that the gas line from the wall connects to on the stove. It is most likely bad. If not then go back to each burner , loosen the screw that locks the adjustment ring, turn the burner on and move the ring back to allow more air to mix with the gas so the tips of the flame just turns from orange to blue. Tighten the screw and move to the next burner that needs adjustment.

How do I adjust the flames

What is the gas pressure into the stove? This is a critical measurement and should be done by the gas company.

Kitchenaid Model KGSK901SSS. This is a brand new stove functioning at 6500 ft. altitude. In the morning, the flame from the burners is primarily orange flame. Later in the day and evening, the flame burns...

The color of the flame indicates the ratio of fuel to oxygen.
There is a change in your environment morning to evening. Do you have a very air tight home? Perhaps over night the oxygen level is diminished. During the day people come and go, opening doors to bring in outside air. Over night the gas heater may be running more. You should get a carbon monoxide alarm monitor and have them check your furnace system vents. The stove might need a vent.

All 5 burners are burning orange-yellow flames.

According to this thread:
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r23696179-Gas-stove-orange-flame
It sounds like it is impurities in your (or more likely your suppliers) gas line. If it goes away but reoccurs semi regularly, then I would guess this is what it is.
If it is happening all the time, or you are concerned about it, call your gas company and ask them about it. I am sure they havve heard of the problem before.
Good Luck!

Kenmore twin burner.. orange flames

A temporary orange flame from your gas stove can also occur at peak usage times. An increase in local demand can cause a decrease in pressure in the natural gas line. If all of your gas appliances are in combustion simultaneously, this may also cause a drop in pressure, especially in older houses. If the problem persists, it is likely a dirty/clogged burner or the stove needs servicing. In general, an orange flame (on a gas combustion appliance) means incomplete combustion and carbon monoxide production.
