SOURCE: Honda Harmony mower, self propelled hydrostatic,

If i remember correctly, under each drive wheel, there is a small gear, and under each gear there is a small metal rod that is what the transmission uses to propel the mower...it sounds like the rods either have dirt on them or they are just stuck and can not move to allow you to pull it backwards

SOURCE: transmission stops pulling when it gets hot

when was the last time you had the trans serviced?
It could be seizing up from the lack of oil

SOURCE: Husqvarna, GTH2454T Hydrostatic power loss.

If it's like mine the transmission is sealed and cannot be serviced. A local repair shop told me most likely the problem isn't with the transmission but rather the engine pulley is worn. He said if sand or debris gets between the belt and the pulley which has a definite "V" shape to it that it will wear down to a "U" shape. Now mine has a foot clutch on the left side so he had me pull back on the pedal which manually tightens the belt. I did this and it works like a champ. This winter I'll change the pulley.

SOURCE: The charging system on the mower will not charge the battery up

The first thing to check on this machine is your voltage regulator try bypassing the voltage regulator to see if the alternator starts charging, it would be better to check your charging system with a voltmeter so that you know what the exact input and output in the electrical system.

After running husquavarna riding mower 23hp mower starts backfiring and ends up quitting. mower will start back up but die out again as descibed.

I had the same issue and after trying everything I tokk the gas cap off and noticed there was negative pressure in the fuel tank when I broke the seal... I'm pretty sure the gas cap was just too tight, I threaded it back on but did not torque it down and the mower is running fine.

When I turn key on I get nothing. No lights , no engine hours, no nothing.

If the battery is fully charged you most likely have a blown main fuse. If you can't find it send me the model of the mower and I will try to assist you. Regards Phil.

Hydrostatic drive seems to be weak. belt to motor isn't broke. seems to slip more and more as you go. up hill pulling of lawn rake nearly impossible.

Try using the heel of your shoe and pulling back on the brake/clutch pedal and see if it helps. Cronic problem with these mowers-Belt slipping when linkage get a little wear-with no solution???

I have a 275 GT garden tractor with hydrostatic trans mission the fluid got low an would not move I bought fluid from dealership an installed fluid moved back an forth went to check level would not move is...

If the fluid was low and the mower stopped moving the hydrostatic will most likely need rebuilding or replacing. If it only started slipping changing fluid migh have saved it. You can jack up the rear with the tires off the ground and let it run in gear for a few minutes then do the same in reverse. Do this several times if it can be saved it will start pulling slowly when it does make sure it is still full of fluid let it down and drive it or mow with it. It could just be an air lock in the trans.

Hydrostat trans starting to make moaning noise stops pulling

it may be full of dirt etc and has soaked up most of the oil inside the case, if the axle seals are worn and the selector shaft seal is worn I would say that is the problem, if that is the case you may be up for a new trans as I have done a transaxle just recently and the damage inside was extensive and expensive.
you will have to remove the trans and seperate the trans case for inspection
Hope this helps
