My infocus projector turns on and shows the red infocus screen, but the remote and the power panel on the projector do not work. It will only turn off by unplugging it from the power source? I got a replace lamp message and ignored it. Finally a warning screen came up saying that the "filter" was clogged and the unit is shutting down. I shut down the projector and found that mine, an IN26, doesn't have serviceable filters.
I vacuumed the fan and replaced the old lamp. The bulb blew out. I shut the unit down and replaced the lamp with a friends spare bulb. I couldn't close the sliding cover that is there to give me access to the lamp.
Also, I noticed that the lamp was sitting flush in the space allotted for it. However, the I was able to start it up, but when I first turned it on there was a blinking green light and I got no light from the bulb.
I found that the socket for the bulb's power -- a white 4 prong female (looks like a computer 12v 4 prong power socket) socket was elevated and prevented me from closing the sliding lamp cover.
Is there a failsafe mechanism that causes the socket to stick above the plane of the sliding lamp cover? Does anyone know if a new bulb would fix the problem?

If your projector is out of warranty and not covered by a repair plan, I found several sources for the replacement fan with a Google search. IFixit has some videos for taking apart the projector to clean it and replace the fan on some BenQ projectors.
Look at the manual page 34, for the indicator messages. I suspect it's the same problem I have (which I haven't had formally diagnosed yet!), which I believe is a defective fan. My projector had been making a really loud noise on startup, which varied in length and volume. Recently the projector has taken to turning itself off after being on for about a minute, and the power light flashes green, with the temp and lamp lights flashing red.
The ballast unit has failed, possibly due to overheating as that is an "A4" sized unit and if ceiling mounted gets too warm when the filters are dirty.
