Replacing the bobbin carrier has upset the needle/hook timing
readjust or take it to a machine shop to have it adjusted

SOURCE: Picking up the bobbin thread

A few suggestions:

  1. Rethread top of machine from scratch with the presser foot raised, i.e. remove thread completely from all thread guides & paths and start from scratch, making sure thread is securely seated between tension disks. Once the needle is re-threaded, lower the presser foot and give the tail end of the thread a tug to make sure there's tension on it.
  2. Make sure the bobbin is turning the correct direction for your machine - and that the thread tail is under the tension plate or bobbin tension guide (depending on machine).
  3. Blow out any fuzz.
  4. Insert a new needle, making sure needle is pushed all the way up.
  5. Oil machine (in locations recommended in your owner's manual).
If the basic cleaning and re-threading (above) don't help, your machine(s) may be out of time or have another mechanical issue that will require a repair technician. We recommend a tech trained on your specific brands - they'll be better trained and able to get any repair parts that may be needed.

Hope this helps narrow down your stitching problems.

Happy sewing,
Kim & Linnette

Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder.

Juki DNU-241HU industrial sewing machine picking up bobbin thread but not stitching. What do I look for to fix this?

Question edited for clarity.

Back to basics. Unthread the machine. Remove the bobbin and make sure is is correctly located and lock. Re-thread the top end. Make sure the thread is through the eye of the needle and has a long tail.

My juki 2000 changes tension when I change bobbin thread

When you change thread, are you using the same brand of thread and thread weight? A heavier or lighter weight thread will affect the bobbin tension. Otherwise, perhaps the bobbin case is worn. Look for a replacement bobbin case.

Which way does thread come off of bobbin for juki tl 2200 qvp

According to the manual (pg 20), it appears the bobbin turns clockwise in the bobbin case. So when the bobbin is loaded and the thread pulled, the thread direction goes right, then doubles back through the tension mechanism to the left.

Make sure you are threaded correctly. Also be sure that your bobbin is sitting in the casing correctly. If the timing is right and the hook is catching, the thread may not be pulling through correctly. Clean your machine as well. Make sure your tension spring is clean and doesn't need to be tuned up.

Skipping stitches on bobbin thread Juki DDL555-5. any suggestions?

sounds like u have the wrong needle or machine is out of time. if its a needle feed machine u might have the wrong bobbin case. try lowering the needle slightly. machine is easy to time. theres a mark on the needle bar which u align with the bottom of the bar guide then loosen the hook (3 screws) and move hook till it just starts to meet the needle. careful of side to side movment. bobbin case has to remain in the finger.

I have lost the manual and i dont remember how to thread a bobbin. Pleas help me and thank you!

Juki TL-98Q
Loading the bobbin into the bobbin case:
Snap in the bobbin case latch, and put the bobbin into the bobbin case so that the bobbin runs clockwise.
Passing the thread through the **** of the bobbin case, continue passing it under the thread tension spring, and pull out the thread open end about 10 cm from the bobbin case.
Insert the bobbin case fully into the hook, and close the bobbin case latch.

Needle thread breaks while quilting on machine frame

My friend and I both have the Juki 98Q but on different frames - we were both having problems (needles breaking, thread getting tangled) we removed the thin metal thing inside the bobbin case and have had no problems since (over a year now!).
