Janome sew mini needle not picking up bobbin thread.

Hi: Is this a needle provided with the machine as new? What type of fabric are you sewing... have you tried a different fabric? Is the bobbin placed into the machine correctly with it unwinding in the right direction?

Franklin long shuttle treadle 4x14010 and the bottom reads 6153C0 what year is it?

I can't find a reference to this 6153CO. There were many variations of Franklin treadle machines and many companies associated with the branding. The ID above does not include date specific information. Records of some of those companies would no longer exist. https://sewingiscool.com/how-to-date-a-franklin-sewing-machine-value/ Franklin began producing machines based upon the Singer design in 1911. Sales did not flourish for the company. That did not halt the use of the Franklin name. And treadle machines were made well into the 1950's. It would be quite a challenge to have the machine assessed accurately.

Can't work lever to raise foot on Singer sewing machine

Presser Foot Release Lever: First, check if the presser foot release lever is functioning properly. Sometimes, it may be stuck or not engaging correctly. Make sure it moves freely and isn't obstructed. If it's not working, try slackening the presser foot tension using the dial on top of the machine. If that doesn't help, you might need to adjust the presser bar slightly. Presser Bar Adjustment: If the presser bar was loose to begin with, completely slacken off the pressure. Put the presser foot up using the lever, then slacken off the screw on the bar and adjust the presser bar as needed. Handwheel Stuck: If the handwheel is stuck, it could be due to issues with gears, cams, or other internal mechanisms. Inspect the machine's casing or access panel for any signs of damage, such as broken teeth on gears or misaligned cams. Thread Take-Up Lever: If the take-up lever isn't moving up and down even when you manually turn the handwheel, check the hand clutch. Tighten and adjust the inner portion of the wheel on the right side of your machine and the hand clutch. If these don't do the job, you might consult Singer's customer service or a repair shot.

My Singer 312 won't go back to a straight stitch. Any ideas? TIA

Inspect the Stitch Width Control: The stitch width control determines how wide the zigzag stitch is. If it's set to a wide zigzag, the machine will remain in that mode. Adjust the stitch width control to the narrowest setting (usually zero) for straight stitching. Clean and Lubricate: Dust, lint, or debris can interfere with the machine's mechanisms. Turn off the machine, unplug it, and clean the bobbin area, feed dogs, and needle plate. Lubricate any moving parts according to the manufacturer's instructions. Check the Needle Position: Make sure the needle is centered. If it's off-center, the machine may default to zigzag mode. Adjust the needle position if needed. Test with a New Needle: A bent or dull needle can cause stitching issues. Replace the needle with a new one and ensure it's compatible with your machine. Reset the Machine: Turn off the machine, unplug it, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the internal settings. Consult the Manual: Refer to your Singer 312 sewing machine's manual for specific troubleshooting steps related to zigzag issues. The manual may provide additional insights or solutions.

The needle and hand wheel on my singer 140q are both jammed. There were no issues with the bobbin or case, no jams there. I can still wind a bobbin on top but once I switch it back to sew the needle and hand wheel are still stuck. No busted belts either.

If both the needle and the hand wheel on your Singer 140Q sewing machine are jammed, it indicates a more serious issue that likely requires attention. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the problem: 1. Turn Off the Machine: Start by turning off the sewing machine and unplugging it from the power source. This ensures safety while you troubleshoot the issue. 2. Check for Obstructions: Inspect the area around the needle and hand wheel for any obstructions such as broken needles, tangled thread, or debris. Remove any obstructions carefully. 3. Rotate the Hand wheel: Gently try to rotate the hand wheel manually. If it's stuck, avoid forcing it as this could cause further damage. Instead, try to identify what's causing the jam by examining the mechanism closely. 4. Inspect the Bobbin Area: Open the bobbin case and remove the bobbin. Check for any tangles of thread or debris that could be causing the jam. Clean the bobbin area thoroughly. 5. Check the Needle: Remove the needle and inspect it for any damage. Replace the needle if it's bent, dull, or damaged in any way. 6. Oil the Machine: Lubrication is important for smooth operation. Apply a drop of sewing machine oil to the moving parts, such as the hand wheel shaft and other points indicated in your machine's manual. 7. Professional Inspection: If you're unable to resolve the issue on your own, consider taking your sewing machine to a qualified technician for inspection and repair. They can diagnose the problem accurately and perform any necessary repairs. Attempting to force the machine to work when it's jammed can potentially cause further damage. So, proceed with caution and prioritize safety while troubleshooting the issue.

My Janome 300e screen is frozen on the info page (Main Ver.1.00-K-001Y, Slave Ver.001, DCI Ver.1.06) Can I reset it?

  1. Power Off: Turn off your machine completely. Make sure it's not just in standby mode but completely powered down.
  2. Unplug: Disconnect the power cord from the outlet. Wait for about 10-15 seconds to ensure all power is drained from the machine.
  3. Plug Back In: Reconnect the power cord to the outlet.
  4. Power On: Turn on your Janome 300e and see if the screen is responsive now.
If the issue persists even after performing a reset, there might be a more significant problem with the machine's software or hardware. In such cases, it's advisable to contact Janome customer support or a certified technician for further assistance. They may provide additional troubleshooting steps or recommend servicing the machine.

Can I use a vintage singer 161103 zigzagger attachment on a 201 k machine?

No I don't think it will. That attachment is for a 'Slant Shank' machine like a 301. The K on the Sewing machine model number simply means it was built in Scotland. That means it is basically the same as most other 201's.

Singer Futura CE 150. I bought a used carriage unit attachment for it and the it drags really hard. It won't move at all while on the machine or when I take it off. Is there a way to fix it? Thanks

Question edited for clarity. Do you mean the embroidery unit. If it is secondhand and has been stored for a long time, sewing machine oil, or worse WD40 goes 'gummy'. You would need to clean all the out. WD40 is a good solvent, so spray, leave it to soak, spray again and agitate with a brush. The wash it all off with hot soapy water. Dry thoroughly and after a few days, lubricate metal parts with sewing machine oil and any plastic parts with a dry silicone spray like Jigaloo. Test Jigaloo on a flat piece of plastic first as it is also a powerful fast drying solvent.

Display does not light up on PFAFF 1475 CD

These instructions apply to PFAFF 1475 CD. They may also work for other machines. If you have some advanced electronic repair skills and tools, check the following: For 220 Volts models - there is a fuse next to the power input, make sure it is good. There is no such a fuse for 120 Volts model. If the fuse is Okay, you have to get access to the main circuit board by removing the bottom cover. Check the primary on the transformer for 120 V AC (220 V AC respectively). Check the secondary side for 5 V AC (luminescent display), 9 V AC (turns to 5 V DC by rectifier, 4700 micro farads capacitor and a 5 V regulator STI L387A) and 28 V AC (turns to 35 V DC by rectifier and 2200 micro farads capacitor. Pay attention to two soldered round fuses in series with the secondary 9 V and 28 V - both should be good. On the big capacitors you should have 9 V DC and 35 V DC. Common symptoms for bad small 22 micro farads capacitors next to the some of the IC's - there are 5 of these: These capacitors are in parallel with 5 V DC. ## All of the LEDs light up but the display is blank ## All of the LEDs light up, the display is blank, and after a minute no LEDs at all ## No LEDs nor display. Replace ALL five 22 micro farads capacitors using a good desoldering pump or desoldering station!. Enjoy your resurrected PFAFF 1475 CD machine!!! I just did this procedure on my aunt's one (Made in West Germany around 1990).
