Desktop Microphone 600 works on roommate's HP but not on my Dell

For the HP all i do is plug it in and it works fine, but when I plug it into my dell it pops up with options "Microphone", "Line In" or "Open Sigma Tel Audio". I click "microphone" and nothing works. Nothing worked for the other options, either.

Where is my physical micropone in a dell 8400? speaker

Rolf,
There is no physical mic on the system. You will need to purchase a mic and plug into the port on the back of the desktop in the pink port.
This jack is used to attach a standard personal computer microphone. Connect the audio cable from the microphone to the microphone jack.

Thank You,

Where to plug in microphone on dell dimension 5150 pc

Look on the back of the unit for a Pink connector.
The sound card usually has the Speakers, inline and Microphone color coded. Some Dell units have a microphone and speaker connection located in the front. Door swings up or out to reveal extra USB plugs and these connectors.

Good luck!
Hope this helps!

Plug in Microphone not working in Dell Inspiron Laptop

Sounds like the sound card on your laptop may be bad. Your laptop may have an integrated sound card on the motherboad or a seperate sound card. As part of the motherboard you have to get a new motherboard. First check your drivers and go through the trouble shooting section.

Microphone

At the back of most computers you have to look for 3 small circular jacks where you would normally plug in speakers. Try one of those, sometimes it might say mic on it.
