Desktop Microphone 600 works on roommate's HP but not on my Dell

MAybe try using a usb mic.

There is no physical mic on the system. You will need to purchase a mic and plug into the port on the back of the desktop in the pink port.
This jack is used to attach a standard personal computer microphone. Connect the audio cable from the microphone to the microphone jack.

Look on the back of the unit for a Pink connector.
The sound card usually has the Speakers, inline and Microphone color coded. Some Dell units have a microphone and speaker connection located in the front. Door swings up or out to reveal extra USB plugs and these connectors.

check the mic properties in control panel, the OS has nothing to do with the volume except it might need you to increase it. jst check control panel. good luck

Try the microphone on another system to verify it works .... if it does then repost

Sounds like the sound card on your laptop may be bad. Your laptop may have an integrated sound card on the motherboad or a seperate sound card. As part of the motherboard you have to get a new motherboard. First check your drivers and go through the trouble shooting section.

usually it is place at the back of the CPU. the plug color is pink. near the fan. goodluck!

Any standard desktop microphone or headset with microphone will perfectly work. It requires simple crystal microphone which starts from few dollars. You can get from any IT store

At the back of most computers you have to look for 3 small circular jacks where you would normally plug in speakers. Try one of those, sometimes it might say mic on it.
