If you cannot access with the new password, have you tried the old one? Sometimes the new one doesn't take correctly. also, since most passwords do not display when changed, and even assuming you had to enter it twice to confirm, check to be sure that you didn't enter it with CAPSLOCK on. Passwords are usually case-sensitive.
Set the password to anything that is acceptable to Apple. Write it down. Login with the new password, go to account security and change your password to what you want.
Trish825, I had an account here at fixya since last year! Suddenly about 3 weeks ago my email address, nickname, and password became invalid when I would attempt a login. Fixya didn't or couldn't restore my old nickname with a new password. Guess it's not in their "to-do" list. Anyway just get a new nickname and new password like I did. Bye for now. 12fixlouie aka louie12fix
On a 3 month old laptop don't even bother finding out why just get it back to get fixed under warranty. The flickering can be from several things but unless it has been damaged there is no way you should have any problems even small ones with that new a laptop.
The flickering can be a bad connector or power problem which you might see on a 3-5 year old tired laptop but definitely not acceptable on a new one.
