Mmm I suggest that you try another flash card, I have encountered several that do not work properly, and there appear to be several scam copies with nothing in.

I have just purchased an old Janome Memory Craft 10001 embroidery machine and need the drivers in order to be able to connect it to my pc via usb cable.

You can go the the Janome web site to find drivers for your computer. When you save designs to the memory card you must save them in a folder (emb, i think}.Put a blank card in the machine while the machine is off anf=d then turn the machine on,,,It will make the folder for you.

Good Luck

Can a Janome 300e take memory cards from 8000 model? Thank you.

No, the designs on a memory card for the Memory Craft 300e do not work in the MC8000, or vice versa. The designs on memory cards for the MC9500 will work in the MC300e. See http://janome.com/en/learn/software-lessons/transferring-designs/compact-flash-card-mc9700-mc9500-and-mc300e/ for some information. The physical cards appear to be the same. If you have extra space on an existing card, you could put another file onto the card with the appropriate format for the other machine.

The MC300e reads a .JEF file; the older MC8000 reads the .SEW file.

I hope this helps.

I cannot transfer a pic to my mc1000 via pc link (usb)

First check your OS version. I think you have the x64 version of Windows 8; this is the most common version (except for Windows 8 RT which has other issues). To check, in the desktop, press the Windows key and x simultaneously on your keyboard (or launch the Charms sidebar and choose Settings). Select Control Panel and go to System and Security. Click on the System link and look for the System Type. If it reads 64-bit OS, your card reader 10000 won't work. The drivers were only written for a 32-bit OS.

If this is the case, you need to find some 512MB Compact Flash cards and a compact flash reader/writer (if your computer doesn't have a card reader). Amazon still lists a few of these cards. Then just copy the designs to the CF card.

I hope this helps.

Format pc card on janome memory craft 300 e

# Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
# 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
# 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
# 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
# 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
# 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Using bigger than 64 MB compact Flash Cards

I have the same machine and if you watch the dvd included with the machine it says to use a MC no bigger than 1 gb. I use a 512mb and it works fine. Your computer may not have a MC port so you will have to purchase a memory card reader which you can purchase on ebay or at Fry's for around 10 dollars. All the files need to be saved on the MC card as a SEW or JEF file. When you go to your machine touch the emb. key then the disc key and you should see your files. You may also need to turn the page; sometimes it save it on different pages.

Saving designs

I created a folder on my computer, inserted the disc, brought the designs up from the CD and just clicked & dragged the designs to the new folder. They work fine and you save your originals.

Downloading embroidary designs for the Janome MC 350E

Firstly, format your compact flash card on your embroidery machine. This is presuming you have embroidery files in your jef format your machine reads on your computer. Place your compact flash in the compact flash card reader writer connected to your computer, open the compact flash card in your computer, open the file emb5. Now you can simply copy and paste a design from your computer to your flash card. It works for me. Goodluck.

Memory card

You will need to buy a Compact Flash (CF) card (up to 128MB is a good size, NOT more than 256MB), a card reader to attach to the PC also a PCMCIA carrier/adapter for the CF card to be inserted into your sewing machine if the CF card will not go directly in.
