Janome MC 3000 shank height

The Janome Memory Craft 3000 uses a low shank snap-on presser foot with a presser foot holder for most of its standard presser feet. See page 17 (page 19 of the PDF) of the User Manual available from Janome on the retired machine support page: https://www.janome.com/support/retired-machine-manuals/ . The current link to the manual is https://www.janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/retired/computer/inst-book-mc3000.pdf . For specific presser feet that originally came with the machine, see page 3 of the manual (page 5 of the PDF). You can get presser feet that are known to be compatible at most sewing machine supply vendors, including https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/janome-memory-craft-3000-sewing-machine-parts.aspx?filter.ptype_gmcfeed_1=%20Presser%20Feet&index=39 or https://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/janome-mc3000-parts-accessories.php . A few presser feet have their own shank and require you to take off the holder. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

FAT error on format

FAT error fixed! Formatted using my Canon SLR camera. I would like to credit whomever it was that suggested using the Camera to check if the card was working for the thought. I had spent many hours attempting to format and reformat my cards using Windows 10 64bit Pro machine. They would work perfectly fine on the computer but would fail on my MC 10001 every time. The MC also failed when trying to format on the sewing machine. Then I stumbled across this thread. I can only guess that the age of technology has become incompatible with the way my computer formats the card. Once I formatted using the camera, everything magically works. Of course, I needed to reformat using the MC machine; but, that was a breeze. I hope this helps someone!

There's a slider on the back of the machine. Down low, behind the bobbin area. If you put your hand back there you will feel it.

Most likely, a replacement foot control would be the best option. I found one on Amazon for less than $60. Although, perhaps it is the actual plug in the machine that is sloppy--something that could probably repaired by the local sewing machine repair shop. FWIW, purchasing a new replacement machine will be more expensive. However, if you are hankering for a machine with more options, etc., then maybe not. IMHO, the older machines are usually better. It would be wise to check out the price of current machines on the market before making a decision. Janome Heritage The Memory Craft 3000

How do I set bobbin tension?

Generally bobbin tension is the last thing to try to adjust on your machine. Most sewists adjust the bobbin tension ONLY if they are using very lightweight or very heavyweight thread in the bobbin. Most sewists will advise to make all possible adjustments to the top tension before tackling the bobbin tension to resolve issues. Tighten the pressure foot

We have a sewing machine that was manufactured by Janome. It is a New Home Deluxe Model. It has very little travel on the pressure foot itself versus other sewing machines. I have learned just by using this machine.... If you need to get the foot up high...all you have to do is reach through and grab the pressure foot and while picking it up(not the lever but the foot itself) turn it clockwise just a touch and it will stay up plenty far enough to get larger or thicker material under it to sew. I hope this helps. Thanks and remember "Be Easy!" Neighborsboy If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/greg_012fb269876eb4b0
