What causes "toner not recognized" message?

Printers are programmed to reject non-genuine ink tanks and toner cartridges.
Some of them are also designed/programmed to stop working altogether if you fit an aftermarket product and you will have to get a new printer. Most likely you have one of those.

Never use non genuine products. You can try and pull the new genuine OEM toner cartridge out and refit it and see if the machine will reset and recognise it. If not I don't think you are going to get it printing again and you will be up for a new printer..

Follow some of the trouble shooting procedures in the user manual and if none of these work you are probably done with that printer.

Error is non genuine toner

Use genuine toner when refill. If it was refilled by a service, they use incorrect tones.
If message is incorrect and the toner is the correct, your printer has come electronic problem and should be repaired.

The copy of my windows is not genuine, what should i do to make it a genuine

Hi.

You are supposed to purchase a genuine copy of Windows, or a genuine license number.

Purchasing a genuine copy of Windows you will need to reinstall the system afterward.

There are also ways to remove the non-genuine message, one way is for example doing a system restore to a date before the message was displayed. This won't make the copy of Windows genuine. It will simply get rid of the message but you will still not be able to perform updates and to get the advantages of genuine Windows OS.

If there is a license sticker on top of the computer, you can make the copy genuine by reinstalling Windows with the number in the COA sticker.

You can purchase system at nearest computer shop. See for example Windows Vista ..

Error message windows did not pass genuine windows validation you may be a victim of software counterfeiting

Who installed the Microsoft Operating System on your computer?
That person used a "non-genuine", i.e., "bootleg", version of Microsoft Windows.

If it was a computer-store, then contact '[email protected]' and report them for using "non-genuine" software.

Otherwise, click the link on the screen to start the process to purchase a genuine license to use the software.

Re: hp psc 2410xi photosmart message: remove and check color cartridge. I've done that and message still repeats itself

Are you using genuine HP cartridges or have you refilled old cartridges recently?

These are typical problem when either the cartridges is non HP genuine type or if it has been refilled.

Xerox Phaser 6180MFP i have replaced toners

There are a couple of possibilities here.

Is the printer on a 'page pack' contract ?

Are the toners really chipped for the printer you have ?
There are 8 printers (including the multifunction variants as yours is) that take a SIMILAR cartridge.

They vary in capacity and chip. Some remanufacturers don't realise and have been sening out cartidges for these with the wrong chip fitted.

There has also been a bad batch of chips (a while ago now).

The solution is quuite simple, contact your supplier tell them what the problem is (error message etc) and they should be able to check the cartridge in their test printer (a GOOD remanufacturer will have a test printer for each of the cartridges they produce - how could they test their product otherwise !!).

Cannot edit product key. Error wtiting the values new contents.

the non genuine copy messed you up.

you have to either find the original Operating System disk, get a replacement from the manufacturer, or buy a new one and reinstall.

There is no legal getting around this.
