The bar is determined by the engine capacity
small 35 cc engines run 350- 450 mm bar
bigger the engine the bigger the bar
as for the chain
the bigger the bar the bigger the pitch of the chain
talk with a shop that sells chain saws ( sthil--Mccolluck etc) and get the chain and bar suitable for the motor size

Chain saw chain for rcs5145n purchased from bunnings Tuggerah NSW who do not carry genuine parts fo this machine

as saw chains are made by generic companies for saw manufacturers , any quality brand will fit and do the job
you can get the chain or chain and bar as assemblies
just get the correct length --the size is the bar size printed on the bar
example 400 mm is bar size and the chain will be sized as 400mm

When I use my chainsaw the chain alway's comes flying off - please advise

not know what kind of chainsaw a fix maybe hard to do but here goes
1. be sure chain is right size for bar as in bar groove for chain right size, sprocket gear right size and chain right length for bar.
2. be sure bar is adjusted for length of chain and tighten bolts to hold bar in place
3. always have sharp chain teeth
be careful if still happening -- may be better to buy new saw

Excessive use of chain oil

Unlike most bigger gasoline powered chainsaws, the Ryobi RCS2040 electric chainsaw does not have an oil adjuster. The oil pump on it is pretty much a simple mechanism that moves the oil on a "cork screw" -it rotates when your chainsaw runs, then your oil glides out of the reservoir into the tube towards the chain oiler. Amount of oil used will depend on two factors: 1.) Type of oil used. We sell winter grade and summer grade (but we are in Southern California, this doesn't make any difference). Our customers prefer the less tackier ones because it doesn't burn their bars under heavy use and it is less strain on the unit, however this drips out fast. 2.) Integrity of your oil line system, and the size of your reservoir (on your model, it IS small). Our rule of thumb here is that if it drips bar & chain oil, it's working. Well, that is unless it's leaking someplace else other than the bar oiler. Check the oil tube - it should be on the bottom of your chainsaw right on the same side as the oil tank.

Generally, speaking for both mid-sized electric and gas powered saws - 45 minutes of worth of cutting should have your bar and oil tank depleted already. Our contractor customers even have it opened way up.

Cannot find info year and bar and chain size

Ive highlighted the part numbers on the clutch drums which also show the pitch of the chain you should be using, either .325 or 3/8. Compare to what you have on your saw. Bar length should be written on the bar. If in doubt, speak to your local Husqvarna dealer.3_3_2013_6_04_26_pm.jpg

I need a diagram on how to replace the toothed belt on my castelgarden ride on lawnmore tcr 102

THIS IS GENERAL to most chain saws. Look for 2 nuts on the bar side of the chain saw. They are normally an inch or 2 back from the bar and usually require a deep well socket to access. There may also be a bolt that pushes the bar out to tighten the chain that would need to be loosened also. Again, this is general to most chain saws and may not apply. Just trying to help.

What kind of oil goes in the bar oil hole?

Use CHAIN oil. Any oil will do but chain oil is thicker and sticky and will stay on the chain much longer. The price is much the same. Stephen.

Chain and bar

in some cases yes, depends if it will physically mount in the same manner, however putting a longer chain on a saw designed for a shorter chain is tougher on the engine, the cc size of the engine is designed to pull on size chain, it may not pull the longer chain as well

I can't find instructions for using the tooless chain tension

Bar/chain tension is generally controlled by a small screw adjuster... Basically you slightly loosen the nuts that are holding the bar onto the chainsaw, then turning the chain tension adjustment screw, this physically moves the bar outward from the saw, or inward depending on which way you turn it... When tightening, the bar moves outward away fromt he saw, in effect making the bar length slightly "longer" in regards to its position against the drive mechanism. This results in the chain on the bar being "stretched" and tightened against the bar as a result.

Hope that helps!

Too much oil on the chain

If you are using winter grade bar oil, then when the temps warm up, you are going to go through a lot more bar oil, because the winter grade is much more loose compared to the summer oil. I would not be to worried about using too much oil, because it just means that it is working and lubricating the saw well. About switching to a larger bar, I would not recommend going to a larger bar than what came with the saw, Unless the manufacture states what size bars can be used for the saw. Going to a 20" or 22" bar could bog down the machine, making cuts slower and not as clean, since the increased length of the bar would be too much for the motor to handle. with the larger bar the chain would be larger as well. So the power needed to move that chain has to be increased as well. So unless the manual says something like, "available bars lengths are..." Then I would just stick with the bar size it came with.
