SOURCE: Canon ipf8000 won't cut paper

Check to see if the cutter module has fallen off the print heaqd carriage. A common problem. It is a blue module that snaps into the left side of the carriage. Usually if it has fallen out, it can be found in the far left end of the printer, so you have to stop the printer, lift the lid and stick your hand into the left cave.

SOURCE: canon ipf8000 error code

Hold down the roll/media button and the info button while turning on, wait about 10 seconds and release roll/info buttons. You should get an S in the upper right corner. That puts you in service mode. Push menu then scroll down to maintenance then right arrow to head replacement. To get out of service mode turn off.

SOURCE: resetting maintenance ctg for canon ipf8000

You can reset it from the service mode it will take you 15 sec but you can use it only for service reasons.
If you reset it there is danger to fload with ink and messed up the whole area.

SOURCE: Can not print to my Canon MX700 printer. Error

Hi You can Try 2 things.

ERROR 5100 means that there is some foreign object blocking your cartridges carriage that disables it from moving. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Next try.

It may be a piece of paper or a scotch tape or a staple wire.
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

What causes error 031300312618?

Farid: According to http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/canon/56346-ipf8000-error-03130031-2618-a.html : this is "Print Head failure.
First try replacing the Print Heads and if the problem persist, re-seat all the cabling to the Relay PCB and the Carriage Unit PCB.
A loss or faulty connection to either one of the PCB's could cause the problem. In one case, the problem was related to both a faulty Flex Cable Assembly (QM3-2005-000) and the Carriage Assembly PCB (QM3-1995-020) for the IPF8000 and (QM3-3093-000) for the 8000S.

Canon IPF8000..... i need to override the "ink

Before removing the used print head, be sure to update the printer?s firmware version with the included CD-ROM. An error message will be displayed on the printer?s display when the new print head is installed without updating the version. In this case, re-install the used print head and update the firmware version.

Updating the firmware

1. Turn on the power of the printer. Check that the printer is online.

2. Run the file setup.exe in the FirmUpdate folder in the CD-ROM. [GARO Firmware Update Tool] will be installed.

3. Run [GARO Firmware Update Tool] from Programs in the Start menu.

4. By following the instructions, update the firmware version.

1. Turn on the power of the printer. Check that the printer is online.

2. Select the OS89 folder in the FirmUpdate folder in the CD-ROM, and run [GARO FirmUpdate]. [GARO Firmware Update Tool] will be installed.

3. Run [GARO Firmware Update Tool] from [Applications] - [GARO Firmware Update Tool] folder.

4. By following the instructions, update the firmware version.

1. Turn on the power of the printer. Check that the printer is online.

2. Select the OSX folder in the FirmUpdate folder in the CD-ROM, and run [GARO FirmUpdate].

[GARO Firmware Update Tool] will be installed.

3. Run [GARO Firmware Update Tool] from [Applications] - [GARO Firmware Update Tool] folder.
4. By following the instructions, update the firmware version.
Precautions when updating the firmware version
- Use [GARO Firmware Update Tool] after checking that the printer is online.
- Do not turn off the power of the printer while firmware data is being transferred.
- If the printer?s firmware is already the most recent version, the Status of the target printer will be displayed as ?Update Finished? when using [GARO Firmware Update Tool].

We have recently purchased the iPF8000S. When the printer is networked it pauses on each line of the print job. When the printer is connected directly to the computer with a crossover cable the printer...

cheers,
It may be a NW protocol/switch/router/driver issue. I print to my 8000s on USB 2.0, since the 8000s has no Gig E. But I had a few problems trying to connect to the Remote UI on separate network card with dedicated address. So in the end I left printer with dedicated address and plugged it into my el cheapo NW switch. The remote UI connected straight away via browsers URL to printers IP address. This way I can move files amongst mailboxes and rename them etc without affecting the print spools flowing via USB. Crossover cable should not be needed either on a modern device, since it should be more intelligent and realize the direct connection, auto switching pairs as needed. If you really need to drive 8000s on NW then I'd remove driver and try setting printer IP first via LCD, then forcing Garo driver installer to search and find the printer IP when re-installing its Garo driver.

I have a Canon iPF8000 large format printer and a message comes up saying, "Clean Right P Head". I have cleaned the printhead as it states, but it keeps on showing on the printer screen. Because of this,...

Canon has bad heads for this LFP, it is not unusuall. Every model has this issue, canon even lower the price of head because of this.
When you replace the print head message disapears for some period of time.If Im not wrong I think that is P-01 or 03 print head involved.
