First off, D12-100 is your direct TV Box, Not your TV. A D-12 -100 direct tv box is not an HD box and will only connect to your tv via a coaxial cable or av jacks (red, white, yellow).
If you have lost your remote for your tv and your direct tv remote does not operate it, then you should be able to find the manual buttons on your television somewhere along the edge of the screen.
Toggle inputs till your on "TV" then use the channel selection to toggle it up or down till it's on channel 3 or 4 for Direct tv, If that doesn't work toggle inputs again and try the AV inputs. And of course if you want to use another device toggle inputs to HDMI 1 or 2.
I have the same problem with my Wii. It's on everything, games, etc. Did you ever access the internet through your Wii. I do and I wondered if a virus hit it.
Mark, most tv's nowadays have a osd " on screen menu " that can be accessed via the remote control that came with the tv. after adjusting the set up information, cable/ant, auto program will adjust everything including all channels that are available in your area, excluding if your using a cable box, direct tv, or satellite receiver. Hope this helps, tv's have been made very complicated for quite a while now and every manufacture has a different way of adjusting. Also calling the on line support of the manufacturer via internet or phone might be the only solution.
take your tv and remote to a technician to check on your emitting diode and a photo senser, both are working but not very sensitive. the components are not gone but about to go. if you remove a senser from tv it can not receive, so that senser is sensing some thing, also check an amplifier just after a senser plse do that.
