Try reloading the factory presets. Back up any data you can.

SOURCE: i've been having a problem with recording

Hi, most of the static that comes through with distortion actually has to do with the pickups of the guitar itself. Most single coil pickups pick up a lot of static while it is virtually eliminated in double coil pickups.

If you have single coil pickups, like on a Fender Strat, then it really helps if you keep the strings very quiet and you keep the space around the pickups tight. Try resting your hand on the strings when not playing, it really works!

If you have double coil pickups, like on a Gibson Les Paul or SG, and you still get a lot of static, there may be a lose connection somewhere in your setup. Check all your cables and try moving them around a bit to see if that is the problem. Again, keeping the space around the pickups tight is very very helpful.

(1) Set channel 1 to play.Turn the REC/PLAY key on. Then press the channel key of track 1 (the track you just recorded) to set it to Play (key lit green).
(2) Return to the beginning of the song.Hold down the STOP key and press the REW key to return to the beginning of the song (?p.37 "2. Location").

Why does my mixer take so long to select something from the menu and why does it freeze up?

Sounds like you need more ram or computer space. You didn't list what time of mixer or computer so can only answer basicly. If using a computer (which it sounds like) see how much the mixer needs andhow much space available on your hard drive. This is called a latency problem. Basicaly how long does it take for the computer to respond to commands while it is doing a task. either get a bigger hard drive and more ram or clear out some files on your computer. You can also go into settings and change the settings. You'll have to look through the manual on latency problems.

My Fostex MR-8HD states "Illegal song name" when

On page 22 of your manual, it appears that the warning message is used for more than one thing.

Make sure that you have entered the new song name text and it is accepted since if the name is not entered and accepted you will get that message.

If the text is unacceptable OR you try to advance to song creation when name has not been accepted will bring up that message.

The manual is really poor and I can understand your frustration.

It is UNCLEAR to us exactly at what point in the entry the message appears. Have you entered all the song name using all letters and then selected the enter function below? Does the message appear before you select the enter? or after you do...?

I have a behringer Xenyx 1622 mixer and am using cubase when i plug it in the it says its ready to go but, something happens and theres no volume..and i cant set it up in cubase?...any suggestions..

When you open Cubase you MUST open a new project.

Then select 24 track audio for example... unless yoou are doing MIDI record and playback.

Then open up a mixer panel and select a channel to read or connect to a file.

There are too many options to describe and the "says its ready to go " is not enough information to know where you are.

You may have to imprt files or record music... Don't forget to select a track on the display of tracks.

What are the exact steps to bounce tracks on the Boss Micro BR

It’s necessary to bounce all of your tracks to a stereo pair of tracks before you can export your song to a computer as a WAV or MP3 file for burning onto a CD.
1. In normal mode, push EXIT and UTILITY until you see BOUNCE on the display.
Note: The upper right corner of the display shows the track you’re bouncing to. By default, “12V2”—Tracks 1 and 2, Virtual Track 2—is selected.
2. Press STOP and REWIND together to go back to the beginning of the song.
3. Press RECORD, and then press PLAY.
4.When the song’s finished playing, press STOP.
i read some stuff online and this should help.

I own a korg triton music workstation sampler and when I create a sequence using the 16 tracks and I want to make a song using a que list all of my inserted effects on all the instruments do not work when...

you need to ensure that you have recorded the midi command to select each effect and level of that effect. this can be done in the midifile. you need to start record and very quickly at the start of the song you need to select the effect and set the level, whilst in record. this should write the setting into the song. you can check this if you use an external sequencer.
