Is it possible to connect my Boss multiple effects ME-25 to my BR-800 recorder. If so how, and can it then be linked to an amp (again how)

At this point nothing as I don't want to risk any damage. I have been told it is possible but as yet I can't see how and was not too sure of the technical skills of my adviser.

Hello Alan.
Yes you can connect your ME-25 to the BR-800, there is no risk to damage any. it is simple, you may use both outputs of the pedal and send them via two normal 1/4 plug guitar cables to two of the channels of the DR (i.e. ch 1 & 2) to avoid an initial saturation of the recording preamp, set the input sens pot at minimum and the sliders very close to minimum as you try playing and looking the levels on the display and adjunting them to the optimum.
To connect the DR to an amp you should use the pair of RCA jacks named LINE OUT (R & L) depending of the amp you have there might be the need for a conversion cable or plug adapters. The out put of the DR is stereo, and if you want to use a guitar amp, commonly mono, you should mix both channels to send them to one input, this can be done by putting two 10 kohms resistors in series with each channel output and joining the other end to the input.
Good luck and best wishes

Is it possible to connect my Boss multiple effects ME-25 to my BR-800 recorder. If so how, and can it then be linked to an amp (again how)

Hi
I have found manuals for both and looking at these I can see no reason why they shouldn't connect to each other. I am not a music expert but deal with computers. I would suggest that you try the external amp connection to connect the ME-25 to one of the BR-800's inputs, and then connect the "line out" of the BR-800 to an amp. Also make sure that during the connection operation, all power to the four units is OFF and the levels are all set to zero. By doing this you can minimize any danger of overloads anywhere in the system when you do "Power on". To help you confirm what I have said, I give below the links to the manuals which can be downloaded in pdf format and saved to your computer for reference as you connect up, and for any queries in the future;

Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

Remove power supply or battery for 5 minutes. Apply power while holding the on switch in, this usually resets most electronic devices to their factory default condition. Then look again.

Hey i just got a boss br-864 and it was recording fine but now i cant seem to get rid of the distortion.Tried adjusting the input level and sensitivity but no luck.Would appreciate any ideas,thanks.

Troubleshoot. Try different cables, mics, instruments, etc to make sure that its the device and not something else.
Make sure you don't have any digital effects (compressors, guitar effect simulators, etc) activited.
See if there's a way to restore the device back to factory settings. Make sure you backup your recordings first.

I have a Fender G-DEC Guitar amp and it has an output for recording, can I connect it to the BOSS MICRO guitar input? The Fender amp has many rhythm functions which I am very familar with, besides it has...

you can use the line in/mic stereo input, but you will have to turn the input level way down to around 1 or 2.

i assume that the record outputd a re rca outs. you can get a rca stereo to 1/8 inch stereo adapter, like the ones they use to connect protable cd palyers to recievers, and then get a 1/8 inch stereo to 1/4 inch stereo adapter form radio shack to complete the connection.
