Remove all item from Freezer
Open two or three screw of freezer panel
Check fuse in freezer compartment.
If fuse is ok then main PCB can be defective.

If the compressor isn't running, the refrigerator or freezer won't cool - period. Hopefully, by now, you've had a repair technician come and troubleshoot the problem.

SOURCE: Refrigerator / freezer runs but is about 45 deg.

Before going too far into this diagnosis, we need to do what I refer to as the finger test. This test will determine if the problem is in the sealed system or other areas causing the problem. All repairs made to a unit can be performed with relative ease until there is a problem with the sealed system. One common problem is a restriction, Freon leak or finally, a weak compressor. I need you to remove the inside freezer section evaporator cover to inspect the evaporator coils. Most generally, all the food, shelving and ice maker (if applicable) must be removed. Next, remove any screws related to the removal of the evaporator cover. If you see frost building up on the outside of the cover, scrape with a putty knife or incorporate the use of a hair dryer to remove the frost/ice. Most often there will be a screw hiding in this frost/ice build-up (if applicable). Once you have the cover removed, inspect the frost/ice pattern. Is it evenly built up top to bottom, front to back? If it is evenly built up, the problem is most likely a defrost problem, easily repaired. If, on the other hand, there is only a build-up of frost/ice in one area, this could possibly be a sealed system problem. Use a hair dryer and remove all the frost on the evaporator coils and then plug the unit in and make sure the compressor is running. For the next half hour or so watch the Freon line move slowly along the coil. The line should begin freezing the evaporator coil as it moves along the line. When finished moving, the evaporator coils should be frosted, front to back, top to bottom and left to right. If you wet your finger and touch each portion of the evaporator coil, your finger should lightly stick to the evaporator coil in the area that you touch. If not, the problem is within the sealed system and cost of repair is more than 200.00 depending on the exact problem. This repair requires special tools and skills..Most often if your refrigeration unit is older, not worth the repair because of the cost. Let us know what you find. If we can help further, we are here.

SOURCE: frige is running but blowing

theres not really any solution if its short of gas you would need to buy the gas and gauges which would be a lot more expensive if you knew an engineer that would do it outside work hours you could get it done a lot cheaper which might keep you goin for a while but if its short of gas there is more than likely a leak somewhere and if its not fixed it will end up costing you more money in the long run

SOURCE: Cooling quit suddenly in both

First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it seems
to be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Check cold control (thats where you turn it colder)

SOURCE: Lights are on but the refrigerator/freezer

It can be the problem with compressor itself or problem with start up capacitor beside compressor.

Kenmore Coldspot 106.57372700 Freezer side running, no air in fridge side

Some models have a switch activated by the lower door or fridge door. If the door id open, the fan in the freezer will stop. That switch protrudes or bounce out when the door is open. Check is the switch is faulty. Check temperature setting for the fridge too. There is a fan that takes the cool air and blow it thru the vents to cool the fridge side. If the fan is in the freezer, check the direction of its rotation.
It should be sucking sir from the freezer and blowing out to the fridge vents.

Frige not cooling on bottom freezer frige

Check the air vents, from the freezer to fridge. Air travels through those vents. Sometimes, products get shoved under the vents, preventing air flow. It sounds like, the vents are clogged with something. I guess, the fan is working inside, of the freezer? Ice in the bottom, of the freezer pan, could be clogging the vents. You'll have to dig deeper. Good luck.

My frige & freezer do not cool at all, lights & freezer fan work, compressor & coil fan do not

Hello Friend, this is Z. Thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Based on the symptoms you are describing, it sounds like your refrigerator could have floating restriction in the line or something more complicated like an issue with the sealed system that only a professional can repair. This can include the compressor not working, the evaporator fan not turning, or even coolant in the lines at incorrect levels to properly cool. It is typically normal to hear the compressor running, humming, or even to be a little warm. However, if you do not hear the compressor at all, I suggest cleaning your refrigerator out including the coils you can reach (typically located in the bottom behind the toe grille) and make sure no food items are blocking any vents in your appliance. Also try checking and see if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and the door. Now close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing. If any of these suggestions prove to be ineffective, connect with a professional to accurately pinpoint any potentially more serious issues. Best! - Chris

Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay. Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).

My frige is not cold, just cool, turn the T stat to coldest & no good. The freezer seems fine & I looked in the back & the fan is running. It doesn't seem to be blowing cold air or...

Two thoughts. If the fan is running... and you can here it in the freezer when it is on. Then the fan is fine and it is the mixer control. IF the fan is not working, then fix the fan.

The mixer control is in the top of the fridge where the air comes out on the wall between the fridge and freezer.

I think maytag calls this a cold control / damper.

Basically it controls the air flow rate between the fridge and freezer. When it is opens it allows air from the freezer into the fridge and cools it off.

Hope this helps.

Refrigerator is not cold (50);freezer is working; vents not blocked. What can I do? Fan is working, & compressor does kick on.

Nine out of ten times it turns out to be a defrost issue. What most people dont understand is the refrigerator gets its cool air from the freezer. If the evaporator coil in the freezer becomes a block of ice then the airflow from freezer to fridge section is blocked. The block of ice along with already frozen foods in the freezer compartment help to keep those foods frozen. Therefore you assume the freezer section is fine. However, the lack of cool airflow to the fridge side quickly turns that 38 degree air into 50 degree air. You could try unplugging the fridge and leaving doors open for 24 hours, this will thatw the evap coil. Plug it back in after the 24 hours, and within 12-24 hrs everything should be cool. If the fridge continutes to cool for about 3-6 days and then fails again, you certainly have a defrost problem. This is long winded, but hope it helps

Refrigerator compartment cools correctly for a few days then no longer receives cold air from freezer. The freezer continues to operate and gets much colder than it should.

does your fan blow? freezers have a fan that pushes cold air to the fridge side if fan is bad freezer will run extremely cold and fridge won't cool down and since frige won't cool down thermostat in fridge doesn't tell compressor to stop
