We had this problem and it was overflow from a clog -- check the hole where excess water drains into the drip tray to see if it is full of grounds. Cleaned it out with a twistie tie and flushed w/ water. That stopped the water on our counter!
There seems to be a leak in the line somewhere you should not use the machine or at least the frother until you get it checked out as it will blow the rest of the machines electrics and maybe kill you. if you move it and look under the machine you may find water this will confirm my suspicions. but there is definitely a leak in that line...
