If you are accessing wifi using Hotspot of your cellphone then you can apply a password for your wifi. You just need to go to setting of cellphone then Tethering & Portable Hotspot then Portable Hotspot Wifi Setting and create a new password for wifi by selecting WAP2PSK security.

It is not the Kobo that has set the password, rather the router for the wifi that you are trying to connect to. You just need to know the password for the router to let you connect. 1. Choose a laptop or WiFi device that is currently connected to your network. If none of your devices are connected, use an Ethernet cable and connect a computer or laptop directly to your wireless gateway.

   • Wireless Gateway 2 customers, click EDIT for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to view the settings for each. ?
     
5. Check the box next to Show Network Password. The Network Password (Network Key) will be displayed above. (You may want to write down this information.)
   
   • On this page, you can also edit your wireless network information, including changing your Network Name (SSID) or Password (Network Key). If you make any changes, remember to click SAVE SETTINGS.
6. Now that you have your Network Name (SSID) and Password (Network Key), you can connect your WiFi devices to your network.
7. If you have changed any information, use the new information to reconnect all your WiFi devices to your network.

What router are you using? From another device try logging onto your routers setup page by using default user name and password. username:admin password:password from there you can change the wifi password.

WPA password is usually made by the person who changed the properties of the system like renaming the wifi to something else. then you would have to ask the person whos done that. if you do not know the password or it is defaulted as locked you can do the following.

reset your Wifi router. to do this you can check the router for a small pinhole that says reset and press it with a paperclip hold it in for aprox 5 seconds then release. this will reset the router to its factory settings including any passwords that were listed inside to the original passwords. then visit your local IP address on using a web browser (usually 192.168.2.1 or 182.168.1.1) then use the password listed on the side of the router the username is usually listed already and if not is "admin". then you will enter the router options and can change them as needed.

You probably locked the SIM card. What you need to do is use someone elses tmobile phone ,and dial 611 for customer support. Tell them you locked you SIM card and they will tell you a number and type that into your phone. Hope I helped!

There is a possibility that the user name and password that you are using is not used for the wireless connection of the network. If you have WPA enabled on your router, you need a password with a minimum number of 8 characters. If you enabled WEP on the router, it may need 10 or 26 characters depending on what type of encryption is enabled on the router.

You can check that using the Web interface of the router. Try these steps:

1. Connect a computer to the router wired then restart the computer.
2. Launch an internet browser and type in http://192.168.0.1 or if you changed the IP, use the changed address.
3. If it asks for a user name and password, set admin as the user name and password as the router password. If you have changed the password, use the new password.
4. Click on the wireless and check the security type. Make sure that the Mac filter is disabled and there you can find the network key set on your computer.
