Since you're using IE7, please click on TOOLS which can be found at the top left part of your screen, select INTERNET OPTIONS, then you will see a small screen pop up, make sure you're on the GENERAL tab. Under this tab, look for HOME PAGE, underneath it, there's a box where you can set your default home page. Please type in http://www.google.com then click on APPLY then OK on the lower part of the screen. Please take note that in case you optimized or reset your IE7, all settings will be back to default.

Navigate the browser to Google, click the settings wrench, upper right of screen, choose options and on the basics page is the option to open at the page you desire, under home page.

go to google settings and then to On startup then to open specific set of page or pages then click the X at the end of the one you want to remove then restart google it should be gone. it worked for me :)

Go to control panel
Go to internet options and click on it
In general tab make sure that google.com is typed in
Apply and save

Then go to tools on the internet explorer page
Manage add ons
And see if the MY START is there and disable it

And Go back to the control panel
Add or remove programs
And see if MY START is there and delete it.
