My wee console has been chipped but the censor cannot pickup the remote contrlol

First, follow these guidelines to ensure you have set up the system properly to have optimal environment in which to use the Wii Remote:
  • Check to make sure the Sensor Bar cord is inserted into the back of the Wii console and the Sensor Bar is centered above or below your TV screen
  • Make sure you are using fresh batteries in the Wii Remote.
  • The Wii Remote Controller should be used between 3 to 10 feet from the TV.
  • Make sure no objects are blocking the signals between the Sensor Bar, the Wii console, and the Wii Remote.
  • Check for interference from infra-red light sources, such as candles, sunlight, fireplaces, and stoves.
  • Radio frequency interference may cause the Wii Remote to work erratically. Check for wireless devices such as cordless phones, wireless computer keyboards or mice, or other similar devices, and move or turn them off.

My dish dvr remote only works on satellite from zero inches away from reciever. The remote works on the tv from 20 feet away. Have tried wiggling the antenna, etc. Any other ideas?

Check your batteries.. Trust me on this it happens lol..Also do you have anything on top of the tv like a VCR or DVD player? That can cause that also. If your able too control the reciver with the remote than it could be a number of these things. Just check ubstructions anything that can be blocking it. Some newer model tv's have a light censor that causes the remo too stop working as well. If its a newer model like an HD tv this could be your issue as well

REMOTE CENSOR

I assume you are speaking of the sensor (on the TV) which picks up the remote box commands, or the infrared LED (on the remote) which transmits the commands. Which ever the case, it sounds like a broken & intermittent solder connection where the device solders onto the circuit board. Most of problem I've seen is the remote box end of things.

You will need a solder iron, solder, and a little soldering expertise to fix this. The remote box might have one or two screws, otherwise the case is usually a snap together, and sometimes frustrating to get apart.

If the TV end of things, then you must unplug the set, take the back cover, and carefully remove the main chassis, and note where the sensor is.

Hope this helps!

Censor

Please try and explain more what you wish to do, and what the problem is with your set. The "Censor" or v-chip is a device designed to allow parental control over what type of programs children can watch. If you meant "sensor" then i assume you mean the reciever for the signal from the remote control - these rarely stop working if the front of the sensor is clean - the problem is almost certainly in the remote. Some(but very few)televisions allow you to switch off the video signal so you can just hear audio, but this will not help you to watch dvds or play video games in any way. Please clarify what help you need, as to be honest your question makes no sense - if you are unsure of the names of things then please try to describe them and i can hopefully help you out :)
