Is there any way to repair the A,I,S keys on my Sony Vaio PCF-FR2***

and choose the one that is most appropriate for you. i would think the procedure is the same for most, if not all sony vaio laptops, otherqisepick one the is about age/generation

There is no settings on a computer where some of the letters are being disabled. What you can try to do is to reinstall the keyboard driver from device manager. If it still wont work the it needs service. You may call sony or go to sony.com/repair if you want to proceed with the service

Just power on your laptop and keep pressing F10 key. You will get one wizard to restore your laptop to factory settings.

Hot keys (Function keys) are controlled by the VAIO Event Services Utility in the VAIO Computer. Install the VAIO Event Services Utility to enable the Hot keys in the Computer to resolve the issue.

You can get the VAIO Event Services Utility from the link mentioned below. It will be listed under "Notebook Control and Utilities - 3 file(s)" (Sony Notebook Utilities).

NOTE: If you have replaced the pre-installed Operating System, then first install the Sony Shared Library (listed under "System Components - 2 file(s)), restart the Computer and the VAIO Event Services (Sony Notebook Utilities).

Did you spill something on it? (the most common cause of this issue).

try cleaning it with dry cloth, compressed can of air, etc......NO WATER/CHEMICALS.

if that don't work, take it to a shop, or if it's still under warranty, get it repaired/replaced directly from SONY.

dear kenkasza, i am afraid that you will lose the warranty if you open ya laptop all by yourself.

Start by downloading the latest BIOS update file from SONY here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=PCGFRV25&LOC=3

Then read the instruction they give and follow them.

just stick the b button back into the laptop keyboard while the laptop is off. i havent got any pics to send but just try and do what i just said.
