Sony VAIO F340 Notebook Questions & Answers
When I attempt to power
Welcome to Fixya
Sound like you have a video card problem. Try to drain first the electorstatic charge of the board. Take out the battery and unplug the power adapter from the computer. Press and hold the power button for 10 secs. Put everything back and tun ON the computer. If same thing happens, try to use an external monitor. If the computer has VGA port, you can use regular LCD screen to your laptop. If still no display then its gonna be the video card is having the problem.

The letters o l . & , will not type on my Sony VAIO PCG-8112L. What to do?
The keys have probably gone bad on the keyboard. I'd recommend you just get a new one. Replacing a keyboard is actually pretty easy, and you can get the part from online for fairly inexpensive. Just make sure the models match because all VAIO keyboards are not alike. There are several tutorial videos if you need them on youtube for simple repair work. Don't be daunted, it usually just involves a few screws and popping the keyboard out. This isn't anything you should pay someone to do unless absolutely necessary.
No power at all, i
Hi,
Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.
1. Removed the battery.
2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.
Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...
I've reformated my sony vaio
If you are sure that the driver you installed is the correct one ...check the card not to be disconnected from the ribbon or so...If the computer sees the video card in device manager ..but it is in yellow with a ask sign ..it means that the driver you use is not the one you need...
to get the correct driver ..go to the support site ..and download it from there after you selected the model ..number and the operation system you use.. If after you format it ..you changed the operation system ...you will need new drives..If the card is not detected at all..in the device manager ..than it must be corrupted and you will have to change it ..

Did you check the numlock button ?
Laptops suffer from this button since it changes the keys 7890uiopjkl:m>? to correspond to the regular keypad on regular desktop's keyboard.
Turning the numlock off will bring the keyboard to it's regular state.
Another scenario may be if you have changed your keyboard's language at the windows control panel.
Most of the keys are
Re-install your soft Fatima, when you do this you will have the chance to re-configure your keyboard properly ,depending which country you are in ,layout,etc--good luck!

I need windows xp product key
Friend,
The product key is copy specific. Meaning that each copy of Windows has a unique key. And key of one can not work with other copy. What you are trying is known as software piracy, which is a culpable offence. Please do not plan to do it. If you really want an Office suite then download free a copy of Open Office from www.openoffice.org. It is fully compatible with MS office and even better at places.
If not satisfied and have a good unlimited usage ineternet connection then use the online office suite at www.docs.google.com. You can even store your dics there with google.
