Right after downloading your updated my printer began having these problems. I have tried everything suggested and do not have any paper stuck anywhere inside the printer! It also, will say Error: 0xd0620230 Reset Power. I've done everything suggested and if its not a cartridge jam then, its a carraige jam and if its not a then, its a paper jam and/or the lights will begin falshing and it says to reset the power.

I'm having a problem with a "carriage jam" error message. I've followed the instructions (several times even) per several other posts as well as general HP printing support. I've tried the steps...

It sounds like you service station assembly is damaged and will likely need to be replaced (cheaper to get a new printer though!)

HP PSC 1610 printer gives error message: Carriage Jam, clear carriage. I open the door and there isn't a Jam. I tried the solution (clean cartridge, turn off/on couldn't reset) posted by nanotech 9 Aug...

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

  • Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
  • Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
  • Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Hi, my HP D4360 DeskJet printer isn't printing. Both the power and resume lights are on and blinking, as well as both the ink lights. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

The power and resume lights blinks due to two reasons. 1) If there is any kind of paper jam in the printer. Then its internal assembly cannot move so the lights blinks. So clear the paper jam if any.Open the cover and check if any paper jam.also there is a access door at the back to check any paper jam.The back plastic door can be opened to remove paper jam. But if you are confirmed that there is no paper jam then the other possibility. 2) The printer cartridges are faulty and needs replacement. There are two print cartridges in the printer. One color and one black.Any of the one can be faulty or in some cases both are faulty. But before replacing cartridge remove the cartridge and clean the brown dotted circuit on cartridge then reinsert the cartridges and check. But if this does not solve the problem then replace the cartridge one by one and solve the problem. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

My hp 1040 constantly jams have tried to clean it and makes little or no difference any suggestions. It will print half of a page then it will say that it is jamed.

>first try to power reset the fax machine, then see if the error still persist..to to a power reset unplug power cord from the back and wall outlet then wait 30 sec and then plug it back
>if the error still persist open the the rear access door and check the if there is any jammed paper in there.using a lint free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water wipe the rollers clean. also check if there is a paper jam from the inside of the printer by opening the cartridge access door
>If there is no paper jam and it gives you a paper jam error message then try to check if the carriage can move freely, first while the printer is on open the cartridge access door of printer cover, the carriage will move to the center which will give you access on it, now unplug power cord from the back of printer with out pressing the power button off. try to check if there is any debris or paper that is blocking the carriage path. with your fingers try also to move the carriage from left to right and see if it can move freely. if the carriage can not move then you have a carriage jam which causes also the paper to jam, if it can move freely then try printing and see if it will jam again.
>also try to remove and reseat the ink cartridge.
>if this will not resolve the issue try a hardware reset, while the fax is on unplug the power cord from the back with out turning it off. press and hold # and 6 at the same time.while holding the buttons plug back the power cord and wait till you see semi-full or nvn reset when it turns back on then release the buttons. if the machine will not automatically power back on press the power button. it should ask for you to select language, region etc a proof that you have successfully done the reset..try printing...
>if it jams again contact hp and ask for replacement if it is still in warranty if its not ask for an upgrade

PAPER JAM

SUGGESTION #1 The print carriage might be jammed. Follow these steps to correct the problem:
  1. With the power on, lift the print cartridge access door. The print carriage should move to the access area located on the right. If the print carriage stays all the way left, reset the unit by unplugging the then plugging in the power cord. If the carriage still does not move to the right, continue with the steps below.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the all-in-one.
  3. Remove both print cartridges.
  4. Push the print carriage slightly to the left and then to the right to verify that the print carriage is not jammed. If the print carriage will not move, check for obstructions under and around the carriage.
  5. Close the print cartridge access door.
  6. Plug in the power cord.
  7. When the " Insert Print Cartridges " message displays, open the print cartridge access door and insert the print cartridges. Verify that both cartridges are seated correctly and lock into position.
SEGGUSTION #2 cleaning rollers Over time dust and paper fibers will accumulate on the paper feed rollers. This can cause paper feed problems. Follow the steps below to clean the rollers: Figure 3: Paper feed rollers c00212278.jpg
  1. Turn off the all-in-one and unplug the power cord.
  2. Remove the rear access door (as describe above in this document).
  3. Clean each roller using a clean lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water (distilled water preferred). Rotate the rollers to clean the entire surface.
  4. Verify that the paper feed rollers on the rear access door are clean and rotate easily.
  5. Re-seat the rear access door.
  6. Plug in the power cord and turn on the all-in-one.
If these suggestions don't fix the problem feel free to write back to me. Try to be a little more specific i.e does paper feed properly, error message shows with paper/without paper or both, do any of the lights flash when this happens, have you tried diiferent paper sizes ot types. Have you taken it apart to check for any obstructions?

Paper jam?

Check Paper light flashes but there isn't a paper related problem The check paper light may also flash if there are other problems. Verify the following conditions:
  • Verify that the print cartridge door is closed.
  • The print carriage may be jammed, follow these steps to correct the problem:
    1. Open the print cartridge access door. If the print carriage can move, it should move to center. If the print carriage stays all the way left, unplug the power cord and then plug it back in. This will reset the unit and may allow the print carriage to move from the left.
    2. Disconnect the power cord from the all-in-one.
    3. Remove both print cartridges.
    4. Move the print carriage left and right slightly to verify that the print carriage will move freely. If the print carriage will not move freely, check for obstructions.
    5. Close the print cartridge access door.
    6. Plug the power cord back in.
    7. After the all-in-one initializes, the print cartridge light will flash. Open the access door and install the print cartridges.
    8. Close the print cartridge access door. If the problem returns, remove the print cartridges and wipe the electrical contacts before reinstalling them.
  • Try to make a copy. If the all-in-one pulls in paper but cannot make a copy, there may be a problem with the scanner mechanism. Contact HP for assistance.
