Faulty dial. I have a Hotpoint BWM 129 and it isn't possible to select a programme. The middle of the dial can be moved manually but the out rim doesn't move with it so you cannot select anything and although it washes it isn't possible to know what temperature or cycle it is on.

YOU NEED TO ESTABLISH IF YOU ARE USING A HOT CYCLE IF THAT IS SO YOU MIGHT HAVE E PROBLEM WHERE THE ELEMENT IS NOT COMING ON THEREFORE THE THERMOSTAT WILL NOT FUNCTION RESULTING IN THE TIMER REMAINING STILL.YOU NEED TO CHECK THE ELEMENT IF THATS THE CASE.IF YOU ARE USING THE COLD CYCLE AND IT IS STUCK ON THE SAME POSITION FOR A LONG TIME YOU MIGHT HAVE A FAULTY TIMER BEST YOU HAVE IT REPLACED IF THAT IS THE CAUSE.LET ME NO IF YOU NEED ANY MORE ASSISTANCE.GOODLUCK.MOHAMED

Could possibly be a broken drive belt to the motor or motor brushes may need replacing.

is it rinsing okay is it pumping ok if not clean filter located at sump hose

SOURCE: Hotpoint WF430 fills and washes continuously, manually move programme dial to rinse and spin then works fine. Do we need a new timer?

I use to hhave to do that my was filter was blocked
