Clean the paper path for the scan/fax portion. The original goes in and as the document is "read" a spot of dirt is causing the black line down the page because it is picked up in the copy area.
FIRST I would check the scanner glass again you can test it by asking for a report to be printed..ie tx REPORT.. if this dowsnt have a line on it the problem is either the scanner glass or at worst the scanner unit it self.. I would double check the glass.. get a soft cloth and some glass cleaner on it and give the glass a good rub over. do you have the lines on incoming faxes .. if not the glass or scanner unit is the def area to be looking at, Luck A
If it is just from incoming faxes and not from anything you print/copy then it is the sender's fax machine that is dirty. If everything you do has that line, try cleaning the scanner glass and corona wire.
for fax if u have a dsl line,u should have a dsl splitter,if analog line, its fine. u also need to claen printhead of printer and upgrade the firmware of printer, issue will be solved
i tried it and it worked on my ESP-9
Open the front of the fax machine. Then pull down the the tray that has the down arrow imprinted on it. Locate the glass strip towards the back, just behind the center roller. Use a cloth and rubbing alcohol to clean the glass and that should remove the black line.
Try printing out a report. If the line is still there you need to use the wire cleaner on your print cartridge or if that doesn't work, replace the drum unit.
If you make a copie and the lines are on the copie then the optics's are dirty, white out, ink or fourn oblrct on glass.
If you have clean the optics and the lines are still there then the C,C,D, needs to be replaces the part that reeds the documents.
