On wash cycle, loads water then tries to rotate drum - but only rotates about 3'' at the bottom of drum, takes under a second, stops, then tries to rotate other way and just about gets back to starting point. Repeat until get fed up and cancel program. This applies to all wash programs.
It appears that it just doesn't have the power to rotate the drum with washing in.
I think started to go wrong on F wash setting so used G setting; now all wash settings are like this.
If set to rinse and spin all works 100%.
When the F program started to be unreliable at one point the REDUCE CREASES, RINSE HOLD, TIME SAVE and ON/OFF buttons were all constantly flashing on and off untill Cancel was pressed. Never happened since.

had the repair man out. he says probably the main computer (which is prone to condensation with a combined washer dryer) =approx £80+ish, or could possibly be the front panel (not cheap £?). His advice was call out Hotpoint who charge £85 call-out, but all parts are included as the machine is just under 5 years old. While you're there, the grey door seal is going mouldy so ask for it to be replaced at the same time and something about the door catch too. Presumably in his experience these parts tend to fail or wear so might as well get them sorted whilst 'free'. £25 call out charged.
