Replace main control board

Nordic track c2255 trips on/off (circuit breaker) instantly as soon as it is plugged in. Have checked cord for shorts and have unplugged each device that is plugged into the maine circuit board, to try to isolate. But still trips. Could it be the main circuit board? Is there any way to test. Thanks

Is the wall receptacle defective? Have you plugged something else into the same wall receptacle without circuit breaker activating? Test with another appliance that also has the third round ground prong. If this is not the problem then yes an electrical short exists within the treadmill, inspect the cord itself for loose prongs, there may be liquid damage inside from a previous liquid spillage which would cause an electrical short.

SOURCE: Nordic track c2255 console displays FF and will

Hold down the speed up button and the stop button while inserting the operator key,if a bunch of numbers come up hit stop once, if nothing changed the console is bad.If the numbers change pull the key and reinsert it again, if nothing changes the console is bad. Also there usually is a tech sheet and test mode guide on the inside of the motor cover if you remove the screws and take the motor cover off you will see a white paper with lots of info.

SOURCE: Nordic Track treadmill trips GFI.

Have you lubricated the the running deck? The lack of lubrication can increase friction thus causing the GFI to trip. simple test start the treadmill do not walk on a see if the GFI is tripped in it does trip then lubricate, then if after lubricate it still the you have a worn belt and possibly damaged deck depending replacement price and on what you paid for the treadmill it may or may not be worth fixing.

SOURCE: my nordic track a2050 turns on but when we try and press one of the speed buttons (1-10) the r17 resistor on the controller (circuit board) starts to spark. can i change the resistor? what resistanc

Dear Sir:
If you can the change the resistor is o.k ,depending about your skill in electricity or electronic.Remember when you change, but the exactly as indicated in the board. For example the resistor has color code, I can recomend you can buy some chart from Radio Shack, for you will see the exactly value+tolerance)Very Important+Power of resistor.

Meanwhile, if the resistor is Sparking, is indicating there are some short-circuit in the board. By that reason when you change the resistor if the trouble persist, you must send the board or call some service tech from some company for assist you in this problem

Other alternative that you have is RUN THE calibration SOFTWARE,that is coming with your equipment, the instruction most of them coming from the Hood of the motor, other your must use your Instruction Manual. This is important for easy Diagnose and Troubleshooting from your treadmill. Remember this very Complex equipment electronic.

sincerely. God bless you.

SOURCE: Nordic Track treadmill A2105 will shut down and trip my HOME breaker while in use, what could be the problem? I have tried lubricating the belt and it worked a little longer than usual, but after abo

1) you must LUBE THE DECK BELT+ ROLLER BEARING.

2) Test the input voltage motor, if there are the MOTOR is faulty need REPAIR.

3) Test the output voltage board, for input voltage motor, if there are NOT the board is faulty.
4) SEE THE BLOCK DIAGRAM, whatever component can be faulty.
However you must test the power cord for short circuit between cable, repair, and look inside according the BLOCK, and proceed with logic, see any loose wires, or some wires touching the carcase, some filter, coil, power supply USE the VOM.
God bless you

Elite 7700 treadmill. Why is there no power to console?

If the electrical outlets work and are fine unplug the treadmill and then check the power cord for any damage. Replace the power cord if it's damaged. If the power cord is fine and looks fine then check the circuit breaker switch on the treadmill and reset the circuit breaker switch if it's tripped.

My washer is tripping the breaker. Is there any trouble shooting I can do?

Hi Jason

It sounds like your washing machine may have a mayor short circuit.
Here are some pointers that may help you isolate the fault.

As you did not give details, perhaps you should start by checking the fault is not outside the machine.
Check the following first.

-Has the machine operated in the same mains ring before and without occasionally tripping?
-Have new appliances been added to this mains ring?
(New Heater, Fridge Freezer or any other appliance that may overload the circuit mains.)
-Is the breaker adequate for the load?
-Check breaker has not become faulty
Try swapping it for another of same value
check the contacts, they must be bright copper not dull as this is an indication that not all is well. Get a professional electrician to check it.
-Check the wall socket for damage (cracked)
-If all is ok, plug in another appliance to the same socket and see if it trips (a portable heater will do)

If all these checks are ok, the fault must be with the appliance.
-Check for obvious damage to the power cord (sometimes spin cycles shake the appliance trapping and damaging the cable internally. (At the point of entry to the machine is a good place to look).
-Does the machine power on and off? Or does it trip straight away?

If it trips straight away or shortly after
Depending on your specific washing machine diagnostics cycle at power on

*you may have a damaged electronic controller
*Shorted/burned motor
*Shorted water heater element
*Shorted water inlet solenoid

Don't know your level of expertise with appliances, but whatever it is, if you intend to open the appliance, it will not be superfluous to say -Disconnect it from the mains!!!-

Once inside check for obvious damage, water is a likely candidate to damage your washing machine.
-Check all contacts:
-To the motor
-To the water heating element (if available)
- Find the circuit board and examine for obvious damage
- Disconnect the motor from the controller, restore the mains and test if it stops tripping the breaker and you have a display
-Do the same for the heating element.

If after disconnecting these components the breaker still trips, then the washing machine controller board may need replacing but may not be the only cause for tripping the breaker..

Hope this helps you determine if you need a new washing machine or repair the existing one.
Best of luck.

Need help with my microwave/oven combo

Big question is which breaker is tripping; MCB (micro circuit breaker) or the RCD?

If it is tripping the MCB the fault is a straightforward overload of the circuit or a short circuit but if the RCD is being tripped there is current leaking to ground.

I note you say you replaced the power control board but you don't make clear which power control board or the reasoning behind the replacement.

You say the breaker is tripping even though you aren't using the oven or microwave but you omit to explain whether these are disconnected from the mains - disconnecting an appliance with a suspected fault would be an important next step.

Nordic Track C2255 no power to the console and the fan is running unable to turn of the fan, checked all the wires on the control board and the LED is fixed red.

This is a situation the controller board motor is Faulty.
They controlled the console CPU BOARD. with 8-12VdC
For CMOS Circuit.,this board has 3 control power supply Some IGTB is faulty: 1) Main motor 2) Elevation motor 3) Console Control
HOwever tight the connector coming from controller board motor to the Console very well, and clean it.
Otherwise replace the Controller board motor.
Blessing.

C2255 treadmill - everything works but the console light no longer comes on - nothing in manual to show what the problem could be.

If the console takesbatteries, replace them. If this does not work or your console does not requirebatteries, check the reed switch or optic sensor. Reed Switch:Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The reed switch is mountedon the frame next to the front roller pulley. There is a magnet glued into thefront roller pulley. When adjusting the reed switch, make sure it is pointingdirectly at the magnet. Move the tip of the reed switch within 1/8" of themagnet. Also, check to see that the wire is not damaged, and is connected tothe console.
See the diagram adjust for 1/8"

After that: Do the next: 1) Tight the flexible cable from keypanel vs Display board.2) Tight the connector from Display Board vs Lower Board( Main Controller Board). See the block diagram that I did how the main controller board has aprox 90% of function from the any treadmill

My electricity trips out as soon as i turn my dryer on a time to work. if turned on and just on standby and not on any time it's fine, but as soon as i turn the knob to a time it all cuts out.

Hi.

Either there is an internal short or the control module is shorted inside.

The control board is difficult to test. Usually you first check the board at the glance to check if any component is melting or if there is trace of damage. If timer is analog(I don't have model number), then check for shorts at the contacts. If there is nothing at a glance inspect the rest of the wiring and parts, then eventually replace the timer board if all the rest is testing good. If the machine trips off when you turn on the timer, then either the heater or the motor can be shorted. Check wiring at motor and heater. A multimeter set on impedance may help to find shorts. Most shorts that result in main breaker trip off are visible at a glance because they leave traces (also smell) of burning. Testing is done after disconnecting the appliance from power by tripping circuit breaker or unplugging power cord.

If you need parts or diagrams see this tip explaining how to find parts and diagrams for most appliances: Where do I find parts and diagrams for my appliance?

Regards.

About 1:00 am this morning our fridge tripped the circuit breaker, it ha never done this before. I reset the breaker and it tripped 5 mins later. I left it unplugged for the rest of the night. I plugged it...

It sounds to me, either you have a bad circuit breaker (the breaker itself); or you have a bad motor or compressor in the fridge. If possible try plugging the fridge into a different outlet. (If you use an extension cord to do this, make sure it is a thick gauge, in order to not cause an increase in amps through the smaller cord.) This should tell you rather quickly if the problem is with the breaker or the fridge. If it does turn out to be the fridge, you will probably find it is cheaper to replace a fan rather than the fridge, but the compressor (including installation) would probably cost more than a new fridge. (depending on how "fancy" it is)
Hope this helps
