SOURCE: canon power shot G5 wont power on but the range

Possibly there may be a loose screw inside the camera, floating loose. Vifration over the years can knock it loose. Likely a fuse is blown and the screw needs to come out. Contact canon about a repair.

Sure the new battery has power?
Did you put the battery in correct? are all contacts (in the amp and on the battery) clean and shiny?
Check all this, before you press the on button.

Canon 7D battery problems

I take it this is a non-Canon battery? If it does this with a Canon battery, then the board that senses the charge level is bad.

However, the 7D has a history of loose screws which will short out various circuit boards of the camera. [screws that hold the DC to DC power board]

I have an apple mac g5 10.4 osx. the mouse has a light instead of ball and i got a warning the battery was going dead. i have bought 8 batterys and none work i bought panasonic cr2032 but no work. can you...

Thanks for contacting Fixya Support, I am glad to assist.

The issue may not be with the type of CMOS battery you are attempting to use, so much as what you are doing once you install the new CMOS battery.

You need to make sure that after you install the battery, before replacing the Air duct and closing the chassis, you press the SMU Reset button on the logic board then attempt to restart your Power Mac G5 and see if it makes a difference.

I would recommend you view the PowerMac G5 manual I have provided for you below, in order to get more a perspective on the process of replacing a battery in the PMG5.

Let me know if this helps.

A leaking coppertop battery has resulted in corrosion of spring terminal second from base. attemped cleaning of spring and New batteries will not power up the flash unit

If the corrosion worked its way in to the circuit board, you have 2 choices.

Get it repaired at Canon or somewhere else.

Buy a replacement.

Power failure

Check the fuses on the printed board circuits.

They are labeled with a P, H or K in the middle of them.

Check them for zero ohms to test them with a meter,.

If you can open it and you have experience and skills in fixing electronics, you can try in repair it.

Check the fuses on the printed board circuits.

They are labeled with a P, H or K in the middle of them.

Check them for zero ohms to test them with a meter,.

If you prefer not to do it, then it needs to be professionally serviced, which may be expensive (at least more than buy an used one).

It wont turn on

Hello

First, you must be certain that your battery pack is still good.

You have to clean all connecting point (between the camera and the batterry) with a dry clean cloth inside the battery pack compartment.

Another think to check, is the date and time battery (dime size battery located inside the battery pack compartment) to remove it, slide the battery case out and change it. Since the battery is install at the factory, it verry possible that there is no more power. At the end of your owner manual, you will find, before troubleshooting section, the way to remove it, it verry easy, no force need it.

A deffective flash card can also cause the problem. Remove also the flash card and replace it by a new one or another one that you have.

When the battery is fully charge, install it along whith the new time and date battery. Leave the camera alone for a couple of hour in order to let the board get some refresment. Try to put it on, if it not work, slide in and out the battery, couple of time, close the compartment and try again.

In many cases, the camera will start and you will have to put the time and date, if the battery (time and date) was warn out. Make sure that your screen is on. You ready to go. :)
