NOT THE CLUTCH.. Mine started doing the same thing recently...what I found is the metal piece at the end of the main shaft that accepts the drive from the accessory was stripped out....the part from MTD/Troybilt is $60... Save the $60 its an easy fix....

Remove the sleeve at the end of main shaft.... clean thoroughly with brake cleaner...

Mix a small amount of JB Weld and fill along the walls of the "rounded out" area..Let set for about 2 hours so it gets firm but soft...

Take an attachment, and slide it up into the receiver..making sure to align them square with the receiver. this will form the JB Weld putty to the drive piece. remove the attachment immediately!!!.
Then let it set over night.... DONE works like a champ again next day.....

Sound like the clutch is going out or already is bad. There should be a cone shape cover that attaches the engine to the handle. Usually with 4 screws. Take those screws out and seperate the housing. There is a small centrifugal clutch, which is probably bad.

My GE washing machine wont agitate or spin. just makes a clicking sound every 10-15 seconds when i start it. Whats the prob and how do I fix it? Thanks

Our GE top-load washer would sometimes quit before the spin cycle. It would make 2 or 3 loud clicks and quit. Other times it worked fine. Problem was with the lid lock. On the lid there is a loop that fits into a slot in the washer top when the lid is closed. That loop is magnetic. Somehow, a small safety pin got magnetically attached to the back side of the loop. Washer works fine with the safety pin removed.

2003 ford focus zx3 2.3l auto.. starter needed replaced due to test of solenoid wasnt working bench tested.. installed new starter..wired it up same.. now turn key amd i can hear starter motpr spin bit...

Yes, it is possible for the starter to spin without the solenoid engaging. The solenoid pushes the spring loaded gear forward to engage the flywheel.
You need to crawl back under your vehicle and ensure you've properly attached all wires. It should look similar to this:
starter-d053pipvg1eiz5wan5nws05s-1-0.jpg If these wires are properly attached, then check for power and/or damage to wires. The secondary will only energize when the ignition switch is engaged, so you'll need help (test when not attached to starter).

At start loud grinding for 15 seconds

it sounds like the bendix on starter is going bad. and it will not kick all the way into fly wheel when starting.remove starter and see if it works properly. Test the starter. Mount the starter in a large vise. Using jumper cables, attach the ground cable from a battery to the starter body and a positive cable to the starter positive post, where the main battery cable attaches. Attach a jumper wire from the solenoid-activator connection. Carefully jumper this wire directly to the starter positive post. The starter should spin firmly, and the starter drive-gear forcefully extend. good-day!

Engine won't turn over

Take your starter off (remember where which wires attached where). Take a pair of jumper cables, attached to the battery, and put the ground to the casing. Apply power where you signal wire attached to the starter. The bendix should engage and spin. Keep a foot on it as it should engage pretty violently. Either way this "shade tree" test turns out, I would still recommend taking it to the auto parts store for a bench test. Let me know how this works out for you.

When the patio cleaner is attached, the Karcher 5.68 pressure washer now keeps stopping and starting. It works fine on high pressure lance. It worked fine when bought from new a few days ago. We tried...

None of these fixes works for me and the original poster, like me what he's saying is when he swaps the high pressure lance for the patio attachment it pulses on and off, but when that happens, you can swap back to high pressure lance and it's fine. This means it's the patio attachment not any valves or power source, I have the same problem

Coolant leak

Hello **** B. First double check the hose connection for the leak, it can drain to another connection & appear to leak there. Second, yes there is a gasket on the pipe connection to the block. To replace the gasket, park the car in a location for least 5 to 6 hours to cool down mabe longer. Have the gasket replacement, a tube of gasket sealant, 2 gallons of antifreeze, a drain bucket, and a very large rag or rags. Remove the hose, catch the fluid in bucket, remove the pipe, clean the old gasket area, apply gasket sealent, attache gasket, mount the pipe, tighten all mounting bolts a 1/2 to 3/4 turn each until torqued downed evenly, and attache hose. Fill reservoir, with radiator cap off, start engine and add coolant to radiator until full and you see fluid flowing. Apply cap & check for leaks. Easy???????? Good Luck.
