A paper jogger is a machine that has a bunch of little motors inside it that spin really fast causing the bin where the paper is to vibrate. The vibrations combined with the force of gravity causes the pages to line up in the squared off corner of the bin. When the paper squares off it make a nice clean stack like when you first open a package of printer paper.

Using a paper jogger in an office

Working in an office I handle a lot of paper on a regular basis. After getting a paper jogger I can not imagine getting any work done with out it.

Using a paper jogger is very simple, all you have to do is load the paper into the bin. What the jogger does is, is it used a motor to vibrate the paper so that it squares off nice and even around the edges. This is a very simple and brilliant piece of technology it takes advantage of gravity to make the paper perfectly aligned.

I have found that work has been much more efficient since getting a paper jogger. I have been getting less paper jams in the printer and the folding machines has to redo fewer folds. Usually what happens when I don't use the machine is I have to square off the paper by bouncing it on the table but if they aren't perfect, then the folds won't be even leading to more work because I have to redo it or the printer gets jammed and I'll have to open it up to find the jam.

There are special machines that can be used to feed paper into a scanner so that when the paper goes into the scanner all the pages are scanned properly and perfectly. This has been a great tool for scanning many pages really quickly. I have been using this for scanning in my boss' hand written notes so that he can have them saved in his email in case something should happen to the physical copies.

The joggers can be a little pricey but when it comes to saving time and working more efficiently you can't really put a price on saving time.

Are paper joggers expensive?

They are pretty expensive. A new electronic one on amazon can cost you up to $800 while a used vintage one on ebay is going for around $80.

Why would someone need a paper jogger?

paper joggers are mostly used in places where you would be handling a lot of papers like a printing press and businesses that deal with a lot of paper. If you are say writing a book and have the manuscript on many pages that aren't held together you could use a paper jogger to square off all the pages so they look nicely stacked before you give them to your editor.

521:DUPLEX JUGGER MOTOR PROBLEMS

I'm taking a wild guess..... Are you working on a Canon copier??? If so,what model are you working on? If it is a IR-2200 - 3300 series, or one that is basicly the same.. Ir-200 - 330... Odds are the jogger motor is getting stuck out of "HP". The jogger unit is on the right side of the copier right above the paper feed unit. It comes out with the paper feed unit. There is a small motor that may have a cracked gear. You may need to replace it. The copier will all way's check for home postion each time the copier is turned On.... So, you will have to fix it to get read of the problem... Good Luck

I have a gp 405 error 051 pleace help me

The error code E051 deals with the duplex jogger arms.... Mostly,it is saying that when you are duplexing the arms that move to keep the paper straight in the duplex unit are not moving correctly. It is the motor and saw tooth gears. It is located above the paper feed unit.... Good Luck

Err051

I believe a E051 deals with the duplex jogger arm or sensor. It is above the paper feed unit. It could be the gear on the motor or the rail gear that moves to keep the paper straight.
