Update your DVD drive and software for DVD drive. You should need to install a DVD writer which can write data on DVD. You also need to download a dvd burning software on your computer. You cannot just copy and paste the movies to the DVD discs. You could try Leawo DVD Creator which can support many input formats and you could even create 3D effect.

Hello Rfd832,
What I see from the description is that the drive is a combo drive. Combo drives are CD-RW and DVD-ROM drives means
CD-RW = Compact Disk-Read Write
DVD-ROM = Digital Versatile Disk - Read Only Memory
so these drives can read and write CDs but can only read DVDs (Cannot write or burn DVDs)
If you want to be able to burn DVDs then you need to have DVD RW drive (either DVD+RW or DVD-RW)

You said that you are able to burn DVDs on other computer so please check the label on the DVD drive.. it should be DVD-RW/DVD+RW drive

Hope that helps.. :)

Thanks and Regards,
Srinivas

4 steps to reset lost Windows 7 password

Nowadays more and more people like to create passwords on Windows 7 PC. In fact, a Windows 7 password is a good way to protect your precious computer data from unauthorized users. Unfortunately, you can be easily locked out of computer as the Windows passwords are easily to be forgotten or lost due to various reasons. In order to regain access to your locked computer and your precious data on it, you need to reset Windows 7 password.

You may forget to create a Windows 7 password reset disk, but resetting Windows 7 password on your own without reinstalling computer is still not a big problem. Just follow the below 4 steps, then you can reset Windows 7 password.

Step 1: Pick one good Windows password recovery tool
To reset Windows 7 password by yourself, you need to use good Window password recovery software. See if the software can reset lost or forgotten Windows password for your Windows 7.Most of the Windows password recovery software available in the market support password recovery for most popular Windows operating systems, like Windows 7/ Vista/XP.
Then, select the appropriate edition of the Windows password recovery tool to reset Windows 7 password. Generally speaking, Windows password recovery tool has 2 or 3 different editions to reset lost Windows password. Take Windows Password Recovery for example, it has 3 editions.
Its Standard edition allows you to burn a bootable CD/DVD to reset lost Windows administrator and user password for Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000/NT while its Professional edition allows you to burn a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive to reset Windows local password for Windows 7/Vista/XP/NT/ and Windows Server 2008/2003/2000. And Windows Password Recovery Enterprise enables you to burn a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive to reset Windows domain password and Windows local password for all poplar Windows OS.

Step 2: Prepare a PC with driver and a bootable CD/DVD or USB drive
As your PC is locked and you are not able to log on it, you need to find another available computer to download and install the Windows password recovery you choose to burn a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive to reset Windows 7 password. Please note the computer should have a driver. Both internal and external driver are Ok. Of course, the device - a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive- should also be prepared before starting to reset Windows 7 password.
Step 3: Burn a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive to reset Windows 7 password
Once you choose the right recovery tool and the device, you can begin to burn an ISO image file to the device to reset Windows 7 password. Here I take Windows Password Recovery Professional for an example to show you the whole process, which is really simple in fact.
First select to burn an ISO image file to CD/DVD or USB flash drive to reset Windows local password, then click Burn to start burning. Click Ok when the burning task is completed. It is very simple and just takes you a few seconds.
Step 4: Perform Windows 7 password reset with the burned CD/DVD or USB drive
When you have burned a CD/DVD or USB flash drive, you can reset Windows password simply with the burned CD/DVD. Insert the burned CD/DVD or USB flash drive in your locked computer and boot the locked PC from CD/DVD or USB. Then you can reset Windows 7 password under Windows PE. First choose the user name whose password you want to reset and click Reset button, and then click Ok to confirm and continue your operation. Click Ok when the password has been successfully reset.

With this Windows password recovery tool, you can rest lost password on Windows 7 in less than 5 minutes. Forgot Windows 7 password? Just try the steps above to reset Windows 7 password.

Roxio will not burn my cdr's, it does not recognise them.

Do you have more than one CD and/or DVD player in your computer? If so, are you burning to the correct one? (You have to tell the player which). Does the CD run properly if you put music in it without trying to burn anything? Have you set the program to burn a CD and not a DVD?
