"analog power save mode"

Yesterday I was fiddling with the settings on the monitor, and I turned on the POWER SAVING MODE. I didn't know what this meant, until I tried to turn it on this morning and it won't turn on. When I press the power button, the light turns blue and the screen says "ANALOG POWER SAVE MODE". Then the screen goes black and the light turns orange. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I actually had a problem with my harddrive. That is why it wasn't connecting to the monitor and I had that message on the monitor. Once I had the harddrive fixed, the monitor was fine.

Same problem here with the LG Flatron Monitor. It worked fine for a month and when I moved it to a new location it hasnt worked since. I have tried several fixes but nothing works. I brought my Macbook Pro into work and hooked up my 15" Acer monitor and it worked fine. The LG still wont work. I ruled out the Mac as a problem - am thinking its the monitor.

Different monitors have different settings. Anyhow, press the menu button on your monitor (hope it is there otherwise some other button must have been assigned this function). Choose recall or auto adjust or factory default from there (whichever of these options you can see). Nothing serious.....

Just finished a live chat with LG regarding this same problem. My questions are in red. Here is what I was told:

DJ: Is there anyway to disable the power save feature on these monitors?
John H: No, the monitor will display "power saving" either when they are no longer getting a signal from the computer, or when the signal they are receiving is outside the allowed resolution/refresh range.. There are "power saving" options in Windows that can be turned off.
DJ: what is the signal/refresh range of these monitors?
John H: The resolution should be set to 1440 x 900 or 1280 x 1024, the refresh rate should be set to 60.
DJ: What if those 2 resolution settings are too small for my client, which they are? They are both set to 1024 x 768
John H: 1024 x 768 will also work, although the picture may be blurry, you can always change the DPI (dots per inch) setting in Windows for everything to be bigger with the higher resolutions.
DJ: Not worried about blurry, just worried about getting rid of the Analog Power Save. Is there no way to get rid of it?
John H: If the signal the monitor is receiving is not correct, no, it protects the monitor. Is the refresh rate set to 60?
DJ: Yes, it is set to 60, with 70 and 75 being the only other options.
John H: Ok, with it set to 60, at 1024 x 768. It should come up, Are you using an analog cable or a digital (DVI) cable?
DJ: Analog
DJ: Could it be a problem with the video card? Should 70 or 75 be tried or only 60?
John H: If possible, exchange the cables also. The refresh rate should stay at 60. I can send you a RMA form if that does not resolve the issue. Just fill it out and fax or email it back to the information on the form.

My LG flatiron W1943TB turns on, says analog power saving mode, goes black and then the power button flashes.. but the monitor is hooked up to my dell notebook bc my LCD died

Hi erin mckinle,
That is probably it's, uh, analog power saving mode. When the screen goes black and the power button flashes, make some mouse gestures or hit some keys that would not affect anything (try spacebar). That should bring up the screen. If you think it goes into power saving mode too fast, go to Control Panel --> Power Options, and change the values. Hope this helps.

Analog power saving mode

If its going to analog power saving mode, that is what its supposed to do when it does not get a recognizable connection from a computer vga port. I would suggest coming back on with some more information about your computer and suggest testing another screen on your pc.

Analog Power Saving Mode Problem!

Have you checked you power saving options in Control panel.
If this is a desktop, unless you are a energy miser, I would change your power saving options to never on all options, turn off hibernation and suspension for when you are playing games.
You can find this in control panel under power Options.
Let me know if this helps.
Thank you

How do we turn off the POWER SAVING MODE on the monitor screen?

Try going into your Start Menu then going into your control panel...then clicking on your "power options"....then switching the options to 'always on'..if this does not work..(as it seems you may not be seeing this because the monitor is in power saving mode) try fiddling with the setup option on your monitor and find a possible powersaving mode enabled function and disable it. every monitor is different so I couldn't really help you here...if this doesn't yield results try another monitor to see if it's the monitor having the problems or the computers video card...the video card could very well be the culprit...

Computer monitor comes on for 1 seconds, flashes "analog power save mode" and then goes black.

Most monitors will say "Power save mode" when they can tell through residual voltage that the signal lead is plugged into a machine, but there's no picture being transmitted. The four states of a monitor are:

* Off entirely.
* Switched on, plugged into a computer but no video signal being received - usually displays "analog power save mode" or "digital power save mode" for a few seconds, then blanks. Comes back to life the moment a video signal is received. This state is the default in full power saving mode.
* Switched on, not plugged into a computer. Some monitors don't display anything, some go into power saving mode, some fly "CHECK SIGNAL CABLE" or a similar message around the screen. Picture is restored when the signal cable is plugged back into the computer
* On fully, receiving an image, and displaying.

Hope this helps.
