Getting the Bobbin threaded in the Machine

I did it once and had it working fine, now when I'm doing it thread piles up and when sewing a little it james up and extra thread starts coming out all waded up. help? I do not know where my owners manual is & I am not sure this is a Kenmore Drop-In Bobbin 16231. I do have the model number and serial number. Please help

I have the bobbin in the right way. The needle will go down once then it will jam.

i was working with fleece and i cleaned out the bobbin and the feeder - then

when i put everything back together the bobbin thread is knotting. i can only do a couple of stitches before everything is in a knot and at a stand still. i have a drop in bobbin - the thread is correctly in the bobbin . but when the needle tries to catch the bobbin thread it looks like the thread is going around the casing (too low) and not coming up in time to catch the thread. when i does come up to the top it knots .

I have the exact same problem. I have tried 100 different times to see if it was just a glitch but it doesn't matter which way I put the bobbin in or how many times I redo it same giant knot.

When this has happened to me, the upper thread has somehow run amuck. check to make sure the top thread is STILL routed properly. It might have nothing to do with the bobbin.

Depending on the brand of machine, you insert your bobbin into the bobbin holder, thread the top part of your machine, including the needle, then turn the wheel on the side of the machine by hand and it will catch the thread that is in the bobbin and it will pull it up through the bobbin hole. Once it is pulled up through the hole, near your needle, you will pull the thread towards the back of the machine and leave it. Then start sewing.

How do I fix a White sewing machine #445 that keeps breaking the upper thread

Check the thread spool to make certain the thread is not getting snagged on the edge of the spool (or the little slit where you pull out the thread from the spool); then check your tension paths and settings (I once found broken, tangled metallic thread in the needle 'uptake' loop that was snagging the thread and making it break).
Canned air is excellent for cleaning out older models as well as the new electronic machines.

The bobbin thread breaks

if upper thread is breaking
1. needle in backward
2.upper tension to tight-check manual for proper setting
3.needle maybe bent-try rolling needle on flat surface to see if it's bent & if so replace
4.thread may hang on bobbin case-check area for lent or fragments of old threads
5. knotty or cheap thread-always use good quality thread
if lower thread is breaking
1.the most probable cause of lower thread breaking is an inproperly wound bobbin
2.bent bobbin
3.lint built up in case
4. thread catching on a spring or latch

Thread take up lever seems to have a metal clip showing that I didn't see before and the machine bounces the bobbin when it sews. HELP doesn't sew very well either.

The take up lever does have a little metal clip/spring that keeps the thread from getting out of it once it is threaded. It should just lay flat against the lever. If the bobbin is bouncing, it will be the wrong bobbin is being used or the bobbin case is damaged and vibrating. Take the thread off the machine and the bobbin out, if it sounds noisy with no bobbin then I suspect you need a new bobbin case.

I just bought a Necchi 4825 sewing machine and apparently I have it threaded wrong. The bottom stitches are piling up. I went according to the maual, have the presser foot down, but I must have it threaded...

Did you catch it through the little wire on the top area of the needle? I had the same problem; also had two different types of thread (I think) in the bobbin versus the spool. Once I changed to the same type of thread and made sure I had caught through the little wire it was okay. My problem is that I cannot get it to do the stretch stitches!

Yes, it does. There are a couple of reasons the bobbin thread could be bunching up on the underside of the fabric. It could simply be that the machine needs cleaning. Take the bobbin assembly out, brush all the old lint out as best you can, reoil the machine once it's all clean, and make sure there aren't any little bits of thread caught in the bobbin assembly. Rethread the machine (carefully) and change the needle. This solves the problem usually--especially if the machine was sewing along fine and the problem develops suddenly. '
The other thing to check is your tension. It could be that the top tension is too loose. But different color thread in the top and in the bobbin, stitch a few inches (be sure to held the top and bobbin thread ends behind your needle as you start to stitch) and check. WIth the pressure foot down, adjust the tension, and stitch again. Keep stitching, checking, and adjusting until you see little if any bobbin thread on the top or top thread on the bobbin.
Another thing to reminder: use the appropriate thread and needle for the fabric you're sewing.

Hello,

Although you already re-theaded and cleaned your machine, re-check this:

- Un-thread your machine and remove your bobbin. Clean any loose thread or lint out of your bobbin case. Re-thread your machine, reinsert and rethread your bobbin.

If that doesn't work, try this:

- Change your bobbin.There could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you sew.

- Raise your feed dogs if your machine has this feature.

Note:
when you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting caught in your machine.

Cannot thread bobbin

If I remember correctly this machine has a little arm in the bobbin case area. You will need to open the slide plate, move that arm towards the middle of the bobbin. Thread your machine as normal, take the thread going through the needle eye and wrap it around the thumb screw a couple times, then start "sewing" your bobbin should begin filling, once started, you can release the thread wrapped around the thumbscrew. Once filled, you simply close the slide plate and that moves the arm back into place and start sewing.

Singer futura 920 sewing machine

I have this machine for more than 30 yrs-- when this happens, the top thread is not pulled through the little disks correctly when you go up before getting to the arm. Here is a threading diagram
