Yes you can adjust the bobbin thread. Take your bobbin case out, look for the little red dot on top of case--under that is a small screw--get a very small screwdriver and adjust----CAREFUL-IT JUST TAKES A VERY, VERY SMALL TURN--JUST REMEMBER---"righty- tighty--leftty -loosey". Just remember how you turn it--if the tension need tightened, turn it slightly to the right and if you need to loosen the tension--turn it slightly to the left. I hope this works for you.

Don't stress. Open the acess door and put a few drops where the needle goes up and down and that's it. I personally think they over do and over stress oiling.

Time to bring it in for repairs.

Are you sure you have got the top thread threaded correctly including the take up lever? Start at the thread spool and follow the thread all the way through the thread path checking that it is not snagging on anything enroute and that the thread is correctly through the tension device. Also tension dial should be on 4-5, if its higher this could be breaking the thread. YOu should not need to adjust top thread tension more than a half increment at any time.

Other possibility is that the bobbin holder under the needle plate has moved out of alignment and then the top thread is catching there as it goes around the hook.

If you check your manual it should give you instructions on removing the needle plate (2 screws need to come out), then you can lift the bobbin case out towards you, clean underneath with your little brush, then reinsert it. There are two little red marks on the right side of the bobbin case and a stopper, these need to be lined up. Then put in bobbin and rethread into tension spring, replace needle plate, bobbin cover, and test stitch.

Hopefully one of the above is causing the thread to break.

Remove and replace the needle (it is probably damaged now) Test stitch a seam. If you still have problems Check the timing of your machine.

Drop your feed dogs, remove your normal foot... replace with embroidery or darning foot... or leave without a foot. stretch fabric in a hoop..... set your stitch.. and sew as you move the hoop.

Yep same thing .....the thing is possessed started running by itself when I was at the iron. Dealer said never heard of such a thing and acted like it was me. Also will not stop sewing when take foot off pedal. Dealer charged me $95 to clean machine and said nothing wrong with foot pedal. Ugh. Has anyone replaced foot pedal and found the problem to stop properly?
