Nor-Lake t3000 freezer - door HOT

The outside right door of my freezer is extremely hot to the touch. Seems to be freezing just fine, but I just burned my hand on the outside of the door. Help!

You have a condensation heater malfunctioning if it burned you.

It should be warm all the time, not hot.

The door frame heater is probably damaged and grounded. Unfortunately, it is still energized causing less than the entire heater being utilized which will cause an extremely hot condition. I would look at replacing it. It is a pain to do but with some patience, it can be done.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Stand up magic cheef freezer unthawing and hot to touch

A freezer can't "unthaw". It can freeze or thaw. I assume your freezer is not cooling properly and is hot to the touch. First try defrosting the interior. Ice buildup will cause the problems you described. Also check the rear of the freezer and clean the cooling coils so they transfer heat to the outside air.
If neither of these things helps, have a professional check your Freon coolant level. You may have a leak.

Kenmore frostless freezer, Model 253-9280413. Food is properly frozen but both outside walls and the top are extremely hot to the touch, particularly the wall to the left of the door which is so hot you...

If your condenser grill is extremely dirty or air flow is not adequeate there will be heat transferance to the cabinet itself.

Highly recommend that you clean your condenser grill (the grill underneath the cabinet) and vacuum as much as you can then blow it out with an air compressor.

The freezer is hot on the outside

Make sure the evaporator coils on the back or underneath near the compressor are clean. If there is a fan near the coils make sure it's running.

The freezer is extremely hot to the touch on the outsides, but still works well, is this a fire hazard?

The condenser in a refrigeration system does get very hot, actually enough to burn your skin.

My freezer is hot!

It is normal for the freezer or fridge walls to be hot sometimes, some important points are to make sure that there is enough ventillation around the fridge/freezer, especcially the back, so that air can circulate around it freely. Also maybe just check that there hasn't been anything fallen down the back blocking the vent, and that there isn't a dust collection or anything. Otherwise as far as I know this is normal.

Freezer is freezing but the outer wall are extremly hot

This is a normal condition.  The condensor coils are in the cabinet and their job is to remove heat which is why it is hot.  You will want to make sure the freezer isn't in a tight spot where air from the room can't flow across it.  Without good air flow it will become too hot and not cool properly and lead to the compressor failing too soon.

Freezer problem

if you don't hear it running for extended periods of time (more than 15 minutes) without stopping, and if it does not immediately re-start once it does stop, and if it is extremely hot climate outside (85 F and above), then yes, this is acceptable.
