The easiest way to reset a Maytag washer is to disconnect the power to the washing machine for three minutes. Disconnecting the power allows the electrical charge to dissipate from the washing machine, which allows it to reset. If the reset fails, unplug the washer again, this time leaving it unplugged for ten minutes.

While the machine is 'on' press & hold the "end of cycle" button for 3 seconds, or till the lock light goes off. This is on the far left or right of the machine's panel. Good luck! Pl rate me.
If you have a front loader then Press and hold the "end of cycle" button
for 5-10 seconds and it will reset the child safety lock. If the
control
locked
light will not turn off, I recommend unplugging the washer for 5
minutes.
Plug the unit back in and see if the controls will respond. If not,
You could have a failed control console or a bad electronic control
board in the washer.

take a good look and read on your control panel i don't remember which button you need to hold for 3 or 5 second to lock unlock control panel. it is also called child lock system.
The "FL" is indicating that the door has failed to lock or it locked but the control does not sense the door has locked.
It could be caused by:
faulty door lock solenoid
loose wire connection
faulty door lock switch
faulty door lock sense switch
bad control board
I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer.
but try this first just in case....unplug it for 1 minute plug back in and see if the fault code clears.
good luck.
Pull the knob off, some units have a set screw that holds it inplace but most are just tight fit. May need to pry it off. The screw that holds the control in the front plate is under the knob. Take the back plate off which is just behind the control. label the wires as you remove them or unplug one wire and put it on the same plug on the new control.
