The multi tool has no "chuck", it uses collets to fix the bits to the tool. Once the knurled cap is loosened or removed, the collet and bit can be removed. If the cap has been overtightened or left in the tool for an extended time, you can remove it by gripping the shank with pliers or vise grip and turn it to release the collet and bit.
Don't use a sharp knife, it will slip and may cut you very badly. We use a small craftsman flat blade screwdriver with a tip about 1/8 inch wide. Start at the bottom but away from the control panel in the center of the unit. The front cover fits over the back part so when you insert the screwdriver tip go from the back to the front. You will have to press down and slide the tip from the back towards the front of the unit. The case should separate a little bit. Once the tip gets between the 2 halves then apply a bit of pressure by lifting the screwdriver. The plastic catch closest to the tip should pop apart and the case should open just a bit. Hold the front case apart from the back and move the tip down the edge just a bit and pry up again and just work your way around the edges. After the first one or two the rest will release easier. after the case comes off check our site to see how to get to the electronics boards at www.ccl-la.com
I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.
pull up (away from tool) on collar where bit enters tool, the bit should slide out easily; if not try tapping firmly (NOT HARD) on the bit with another bit or similiar object before or during pulling collar
Hello mfischett: My name is Roger and I will answer your question for you. If you have the proper tools the job is easy. If you do not have them you will end up breaking things. You will need to remove the steering wheel. to do this requires the tool to remove the air bag. You will need the tool to pull the steering wheel. Remove the column cover. To remove the multi - function switch you will need a tamper proof torq bit tool. These are special tools. Should you not have these tools I would have someone else do the job that have the proper tools.
Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the quality of your answer. This way we can tell your answer was of help. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger
Ok, this will not be too hard. You just need to be careful.
You will need a couple tools : A small Cross-tip (phillips) Screwdriver, A small Flat-tip screwdriver. and a small pick tool (if you have one)
Ok right above your keyboard is the Power button bezel which is about the width of the laptop, and even covers the monitor hinges. Using you Pick tool or Small Flat-tip, use the tool to gently pry the hinge part of the bezel upwards. You should feel it kinda free itself, maybe even freeing the entire end, firmly grab the end of the bezel and kind of wiggle it from side to side while lifting it. you should be making some progress and feel the entire bezel start to release. On acers most do not have screws holding the power bezel in place, be sure to check for a couple screws on the bottom if the bezels doesn't seems to come off with my instructions.
Once you have removed the bezels, you will now see the top of the keyboard. There should be a couple small screws holding the keyboard in place. Remove those screws only. Gently lift the keyboard from the laptop, keeping in mind the ribbon cable under the keyboard that attaches to the motherboard. The spot where this cable attaches is white with a small brown tab on each side. using a small amount of pressure gently push these brown tabs forward toward the screen...they will only move a small amount. once the brown tabs have been pushed forward, you can now remove the ribbon cable as well as the entire keyboard. Now your ready to put in the new keyboard. Slide the ribbon cable into the slot, push back the brown tabs to hold the cable. lay the keyboard into the laptop, replace the twon screws, replace the power button bezel. Boot up laptop, make sure everything works and voila you done.
Its not as bad as it looks, but u will need to remove the gearbox. I recommend u get a haynes workshop manual, they r great with pica and tips. Good luck
Remove the brushead and attach the adapter (round cup-looking device with a screen or grille on the front).Attach the hose to the blower (bag) side of the machine. In your attachment caddy, there should be a round rubber attachment with rubber teeth around the outer edge.Should be called the pet grooming tool.Grap the attachment and flip the teeth edge back as if you are trying to turn it inside out. It's now ready to use.If you are trying to unclog a dual (kitchen) sink, make sure the other side has the stopper firmly in place so that there is a seal for the entire drain system
