HP C5250 All in one says "out of paper"

When I attempt to print, the printer begins gearing up (responds to request from computer) then says "out of paper" although it has plenty of paper. I have reset the printer, removed the paper, re-stacked it and returned it to the tray with no success. I also opened all of the doors to check for jams, etc... and there are none.

The printer takes a long time to print.

Buy a faster printer.

And, no, I'm not being a smart-aleck

HP rates this printer at up to 32 pages per minute -- in fast draft mode black ink only... But even their ratings show it takes over a minute per page when doing quality printing in color.

And those speed ratings are all "after first page" -- ALL printers take longer for the first page due to the time it takes for the computer to set up the page and process the information.

As the specs suggest, you can get faster printing in black-only instead of color and by choosing fast draft mode instead of quality or normal mode.

There is very little that could be wrong with the printer that would make it print slower than usual -- generally any problem would make it not print at all or cause it to print incorrectly. Generally speaking whatever speed you see is simply the speed of the printer itself based on the settings you have selected, the software you are using, and the speed of your computer.

You can refer to the information on the HP website. It is just possible that replacing the printer driver MIGHT help but other than that there simply isn't much you can do about the speed of this (or any) printer unless you want to choose a lower quality print setting.

I am using HP P4515n on network enviorenment and I am facing a problem while giving print to printer, after giving print I have to press ok or c button to take print out result ? Please help me to...

The paper size or type that you are requesting to be printed from your computer does not exactly match what the HP printer thinks it has loaded in the paper tray. An example would be your are trying to print a document on 81/2X11 plain paper and the HP is programmed for 81/2X11 letterhead paper. Or you have tray1 selected and tray 2 has the paper installed. In short when I see this problem it is usually because there is a mis-match between what the computer is printing to, and what the HP printer thinks it has. Just check you paper tray settings both when you are printing the job and check the paper tray settings on the printer to make sure there is no issue.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

HP Lazer 4300dtn keeps trying to print from tray 1. How can I set the default to tray 2?

Selecting which tray is used for printing

You can select how the printer pulls paper from the trays.

Understanding tray order

When the printer receives a print job, it selects the tray by trying to match the requested paper

type and size with what has been loaded in the trays. Using an "autoselect" process, it searches

all available trays for the paper that satisfies the request, starting with the bottom tray and ending

with the top tray (tray 1). The printer begins printing the job as soon as it finds the proper type/

size.

Note The "autoselect" process occurs only if no specific tray is requested for the job. If a specific tray

is requested, the job prints from the requested tray.

If paper is loaded in tray 1 and tray 1 is set TRAY 1 TYPE=ANY and TRAY 1 SIZE=ANY on the

Paper Handling menu, the printer will always pull paper from tray 1 first. See "Customizing

tray 1 operation" on page 47 for more information.

If the search fails, a message appears on the printer control panel display requesting that

you load the correct paper type/size. You can load that paper type/size, or you can override

the request by selecting a different type/size at the printer control panel.

If a tray runs out of paper during a print job, the printer automatically switches to any tray that

contains the same paper type/size.

The autoselect process changes somewhat if you customize tray 1 operation (as explained in

"Customizing tray 1 operation" on page 47) or set tray 1 for manual feed (as explained in
"Manually feeding paper from tray 1" on page 49). See if this works. Good luck !

I wantto print from tray 2. but it always print on tray 1

When the printer receives a print job, it selects the tray by trying to match the requested paper type and size with what has been loaded in the trays. Using an "autoselect" process, it searches all available trays for the paper that satisfies the request, starting with the bottom tray and ending with the top tray (tray 1). The printer begins printing the job as soon as it finds the proper type/size.
Press the "Check" button, scroll down to "Paper Handling", press the Check button again, scroll down to Tray 2 Type and press the check button again. Select the type of paper you have in that cassette and confirm by pressing the check button.

I have an HP J6460 that growls during startup, then ''Paper Jam''s

If there is a manual feed, try feeding a sheet of paper through.
The problem is that the motor is being told to move the paper, and nothing happens. The growl is the motor/gears attempting to move the paper.
The motor may be dead. If not, then there is SOMETHING jamming up the gears. Clear out the gears and try again.
If that fails, go buy a laser printer based all-in-one (much cheaper per printed page).

HP Photosmart 7450 stuck cartridge

not a solution, my paper feeds past the point where printer5.gif would normally begin. Then flashing light changes from green to red and print operation stops. Printer cartridge1.gif appears to be stuck in far right area of cartridge track.

Replaced drivers as above and still have the same problem.
Mine started after I had replaced the color cartridge. Mailed the old one to HP already so can't put in old cartridge.

If I unplug printer from computer, I get same results. Does the driver software install in the printer?
