Kenmore Elite: Won't complete cycle

Our washer gave us the f-02 code. We knew it was the pump, took it out, was full of gunk (I mean full). Cleaned it out, didn't work, still got the code. Bought a new pump, installed it. At first it would begin to fill the drum without agitating and then would go right to trying to pump out water, would keep pumping forever until it gave the same f-02 code. Cleaned out the water lines (thought they might be plugged) same thing. It wouldn't agitate. Unplugged the machine to reset, started over, got it to agitate, went all the way through until 20 minutes left, pumps out the water but won't spin. Pumps until you get the f-02 code again. Is this an electrical/computer issue?

“F02” is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump

Error code f 02

I think it's a slow drain fault. But would need full model number to say for sure. Still it wouldn't hurt to check the drain pump for crud. Here are some vids that might help. Don't worry too much about brand specifics. Many brands share identical and similar parts.

My washer gives me a 02 F error code and does not spin the water complete the cycle. It just freezes

"F/02" Long Drain
If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and "F/02" is flashed.
NOTE: After 4 minutes the "Sud" error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.
Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
  • Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
  • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
  • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
  • If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump

Kenmore Elite HE3t which F21 code

I'm guessing the HOSE is the drain hose.
The goop is causing the drain motor to overheat causing it to report error. (luckily or it'd burn out).
Give it a empty load with nothing in it to see if it flushes it all out.
Just water.
See if it completes full cycle and check pump filter again to see if clean.
TIP. Make sure you check ALL pockets before you wash clothes.

f02 is a drain error propably you have something stuck in your water pump u need a torx 20 and some hose clamps unplug the machine take the three torx screws off the toe panel put the hose clamps on the white plastic waterpumps hose that goes from the back of the pump to the bottom of the drum unscrew the pump to the left and pull out you can also use the toe panel to catch some of the water pull anthing out of it that u can and replace everything back try that first

Kenmore Elite HE4t Washer

WE had a person with the same problem with her HE4 front loaded washer. What we discovered was when we opened up the soap resivour was that soap built up around the float valves causing them to stick.

A technician I knew put vinegar down the soap dispensor and ran the cycle, with the washer empty. He put it on in the hot water mode and ran it for four or five complete cycles like washing clothes.

It worked for him. Try it like it did for him to see if it helps. If not, you will need to contact a service technician to see if the SUD error code means something else.

Sometimes the timer boards get a bit of moisture on them and cause a corrosion headache. I have yet to see anyone figure out a way to dry them off, and when condensation builds up, it usually means there is a problem causing the condensation to get that far up. On some versions a foam seal gets worn out from time, often needs to be replaced to prevent moisture built up.

Another thing that sometimes does it is the back of the machine, will be too close to the wall or have debris back behind there causing it not to be able to breath.
