Hello dtspins2. Your footswitch is stuck. Disconnect the DC. Remove the bottom of the foot control, check the wiring for insulation broken off and wires shorting out, and disconnect a wire(note color of wires) from switch, reconnect power to confirm motor don't run. Remove the switch and contact your local electrical supply store(may cost less) or marine store for replacement. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Possible sticking foot control switch

If you can undo the switch and it won't run any more, the it is the switch except for any other wiring short out of sight depending how that switch is hooked up. Strangely these devices should be designed to fail to safe. In your case some exception?

SOURCE: Minn Kota power drive trolling motor will not

There is a good chance that he control board is bad. This is a common problem with these units. I have replaced my control board twice.. When the control board goes out, the some function of the unit will not work correctly while other functions work fine. The first time mine went out, the prop motor would not work. The last time the board went out, the unit would only steer right.

You should only use the MOM (or momentary) setting when using the push button the foot pedal. Con will just keep the motor running and your foot control will only allow for direction and speed!

My trolling motor- 2007 70# Minnkota Powerdrive V2 seems to lose track of where it's at. I replaced both control boards and it still wanders off.

If you have already replaced the control boards and the trolling motor still seems to lose track of its location, there are a few other things you can check:
  1. The propeller may be damaged or bent, causing it to steer off course. Inspect the propeller for any visible damage and replace it if necessary.
  2. The motor's GPS sensor may not be functioning properly. Check to make sure the sensor is clean and free of debris. You can also try recalibrating the sensor according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. The wiring connections may be loose or corroded, causing intermittent power to the motor. Check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of corrosion, and clean or replace as necessary.
  4. The foot pedal or remote control may be malfunctioning, causing the motor to steer off course. Check the foot pedal or remote control for any damage or loose connections, and replace or repair as necessary.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to take your trolling motor to a professional repair shop for further diagnosis and repair.

To pair a new remote, disconnect The trolling motor from batteries and re-connect. Then, within 10 seconds hold the + and - buttons until you hear a long beep indicating the remote has been paired.

I have one the New 115 Thrust and had the same problem.
This will correct your issue.

How do you reset remote for w75 wireless trolling motor

Its very easy:

Reprogramming the Wireless Foot Pedal or RemoteNOTE: This activation procedure applies to the foot pedal and remote.

IMPORTANT: To activate multiple foot pedals or remotes, the motor must be unplugged from the power source and then plugged

back into the power source between activating each control device.

1. Unplug the battery cables from the power source. Wait 30 seconds and then plug the motor into the power source.

2. In less than ten seconds, press and hold the "+" and "-" buttons on either the handheld remote or the foot pedal controller

simultaneously.
