Hello download the graphic driver here at dell:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/ussoho1/Product/optiplex-gx270

Or find the latest driver here at nvidia:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.96.html

Or find automaticaly:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

By installing a piece of software.

There has been some trouble with the previous versions of the nvidia driver.
This is probably why you get the blue screen if death.

Good luck

SOURCE: My screen goes blank immediately after initial DELL startup image

You can either try to reset the BIOS, or have the restore cd fix it for you. By the way, what does the message say?

I have a nVidia Quadro2 MXR/EX video card which works fine on the analog input but when you use the digital input the screen sometimes flashed at startup and then goes blank. If you move the mouse,...

There are a few things that come to mind here. Number one is to try a different and known functioning DVI cable. Maybe see if you can recreate the problem simply by wiggling the dvi cable. If there are any splitters/adapters, remove them and plug the cable straight from the video card to the display. Make sure the display is set to digital input mode. When you are using the digital cable, make sure to completely remove the analog cable. See if this problem happens outside the operating system (such as in the system bios, if it does, this indicates a hardware issue). Finally, the digital input on the monitor could be having an issue, try a different monitor or try this monitor with digital input from another system.

Hi I have got a dell optiplex gx270 with the licence of win xp pro, I am trying to restore the system with ctrl F11 but nothing work, when I select boot from cd the system lunch win xp pro with login and...

if you want to restore the computer to the factory settings.
restart the comptuer. immediately hold down the CONTROL key and start tapping F11 key.
Note : all of the data and software would be lost. Your computer will be restored to factory settings like a newly brought system.
IF this does work then go to bios, and make cd rom as the first boot devices, hit f10. now, hit "escape" once and select, "save" and hit enter.
Now, comptuer will be restarted. Now,start tapping space bar, It will boot from the disk.
else restart the computer and again start tapping spacebar at the startup.

Black screen with AGP video card update

you really didn't need a new psu for that videocard, but it can either be a burned videocard or the monitor can't support the refresh rate the videocard is outputting.  although, the card really should default to its lowest setting upon installing in a new system, try connecting another monitor.  if you get a screen, thats good, if not, try booting into safe mode holding f8 right before the windows loading screen appears.

Problem installation video card

Hello Virna, i have that exact graphics card and dell GX270 desktop here at home, tho it has been awhile since i removed the Nvidia PCI card for a more favorable AGP card. From what i remember, first check your BIOS (hit F2 on startup) and select integrated devices, scroll down and make sure your default video output is either PCI (if available) or AUTO) exit saving changes. If that yields no result. Plug in a second monitor to your old integrated video output, if you can view windows after bootup from there, then you can install the proper Nvidia display driver for windows Xp (available here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html ). After installing, right click on the desktop, select properties, display settings tab, and make sure the Geforce card is the main monitor and the desktop monitor. Click apply, unplug the integrated VGA output, and restart. Hope this helps.
